Wipeouts and whiplash. It happens to all kiters. One good snap of the melon and your day is done. How do you stop it?
Inspired by my friend Sam Chilvers post about how she recently had whiplash from a crash, I thought I’d offer this pro tip on how to save yourself from seeing stars. ✨
As soon as you realize you’re about to eat s**t, let go of the bar with the hand that isn’t needed to keep the kite in the air, and grab your head like a coconut 🥥
This bracing will prevent your head from snapping when your body hits the water at full speed. Prevent the snap, save your session.
Pro Tip 2: Always ride with an impact vest. So that when you grab your head, the ribs are protected from the impact. (Side pro tip: wear your impact vest as the base layer. It sticks to your skin better. And get a vest without a zipper. Nice and tight pulllover and it’ll stay stuck for your whole session).
Have a great session 🤙🏽
