🇩🇲Dominica's Student-Athlete, Zaiden Cornelius Heads to Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica, on an Athletics Scholarship.

The Dominica Athletics Association Inc. (DAA) is proud to announce that Zaiden Cornelius, javelin thrower of the Aspirers Athletics Club in Portsmouth, has earned an athletics scholarship to Edwin Allen High School in Jamaica — one of the region's premier institutions for developing world-class track and field talent.

This achievement crowns a remarkable rise for Zaiden, whose growing list of accomplishments speaks for itself:

- National Junior Javelin Champion
- Sports Division Secondary Schools U-16 and U-17 Javelin Champion
- Silver Medalist, Javelin U-17 Boys, 2026 Trupial Classic — Curaçao
- Silver Medalist, 2026 Windward Island School Games — Saint Lucia
- Qualified athlete for the 2026 CARIFTA Games in Grenada

From the Benjamin's Park in Portsmouth to the regional track, Zaiden has shown the kind of discipline, talent and heart that define a true champion in the making. His journey is a powerful reminder of what is possible when raw ability meets hard work and unwavering commitment — and it stands as an inspiration to every young athlete across Dominica dreaming of reaching similar heights.

The entire DAA Inc. family and the wider athletics fraternity of Dominica extends heartfelt congratulations to Zaiden on this well-deserved opportunity. As he prepares to take this exciting next step at Edwin Allen High School, we wish him strength, focus and continued success. May he stay grounded, keep pushing his limits and continue to make his family and his country proud with every throw.

Aspirers extend best wishes to Eron Jack who is flying back to Trinidad to complete his final year at the University of the Southern Caribbean (U.S.C).

We say congratulations to all the Aspirers Athletic Club juverniles who participated in the D.A.A Inc. Kids Athletics summer program.

Gratitude is also extended to Coach Caryl who led out in the training sessions, assisted by Coach Nabi. To all the volunteers who stopped by to assist every once in a while, we say THANK YOU 💐

The participants received a few tokens for their participation and successful completion, compliments the Dominica Athletics Association Incorporated.
