Copenhagen Australian Football

During what is otherwise a quiet summer, 7 of our Cudas represented Denmark in last weekend's Euro Cup, with the women forming a combined team with other European representatives and Christian Qvistgaard H. Poulsen on the Danish national team.

"The combo team really came together throughout the day and was an awesome and supportive bunch!

Sam had some world class marks and tackles, playing both dominant defense and an impressively contested mark near goal. led some of our most successful back lines from full back with some high pressure moments in the forward line and courageously taking over ruck from Meyke for most of our final game. sped around the middle and forward line and laid some truly impressive tackles and pressure. 's leadership as captain really brought a new team together in positive attitude and support, from an excellent dinner reservation for our first team meeting to on field words of wisdom. I didn't see as much of the men's games as I would have wanted, but I saw Christian punch the ball a few times and stop a few near goals.

The women's two wins were against an extremely aggressive Poland, the first of which was a 5-4 scorelines entirely of behinds. "

Also, congratulations to Meyke as our selected representative on the Team of the Tournament! Proud of all of our Cudas 🦈!

While the score didnt fall the way we wanted, it was as great of a game as we can always expect against the Cats. Most significantly, it was our last game with and - they have been incredible both on and off the field and we wish them nothing but the best moving forward (especially if that's leads them back to Copenhagen)

🏆Champions League - ToT🏆

Last but definitely not least* - we had 3 Cudas represented in the Champions League "Team of the Tournament", made up of the top representatives from each club.

and were all over the ground, showing quick-thinking, ball awareness, toughness, and great footy skills throughout

thaning provided the emotional spark that the men's team needed at crucial points throughout the weekend, not just through his own big plays, but through vocal leadership of others as well. He also scored a ton of goals, which helps.

While we believe that the real Team of the Tournament should be entirely made up of Cudas, we could not be better represented than by these 3!

🏆Champions League - Men's 🏆

The Men's side of the club had a fantastic showing in Lyon, going 3-2 on the day with our only losses coming from the 2022 champions Amsterdam Devils and the (now 3x) reigning champions, the Wandsworth Demons. We came out in 8th place - much better than our initial seeding and we're confident that moving forward, we can hang with the best out there. Now onto the DAFL!

🏆 Champions League - Women 🏆

For the first time in Cudas history, we sent a women's team to Champions League, and they absolutely crushed it. With 3 wins against 2 losses (with both losses to the top 2 seeds of the tournament, and one by less than a goal), they capitalized on what has been a tremendous year of growth and momentum for the women's side. Cudas women placed 6th overall, and are hungry for more competition in 2026-27!

Auskick comes to Copenhagen!

The DAFL has begun an initiative near and dear to the hearts of many Aussies - Auskick gives kids 5-12 years of age the opportunity to learn footy, meet new friends, and have fun! Best part (besides the footy, friends, and fun) is that it's completely free!

🚨 MAJOR CUDAS ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

For the first time ever, the Copenhagen Barracudas are sending both a men's and women's team to the annual Champions League tournament for AFL Europe. We're honored (and extremely excited) to represent Denmark against the best that the rest of Europe has to offer, and to be able to do so as a full club is even better. This is our first time sending our women's team, which is a huge testament to how much work and success the ladies have achieved over the past year. Go get 'em, Cudas!
