New parkrun in Lyngby

Volunteers needed!
At the moment there are only two of us - Jim from England and Katrine from Denmark (plus two small helpers). We need to build a core team of volunteers (6-8 people) to get the parkrun off the ground. If you are interested, please get in touch on this page or email [email protected]

What we want to do:
We would like to set up a parkrun event in a location roughly defined by Furesø kommune.
We have obtained permission from Naturstyrelsen and Furesø kommune for two potential locations:
1. Flyvestation Værløse 2. From Farum Arena

Bit about parkrun:
parkrun is a free, weekly timed informal 5k run or walk held at 9am each Saturday, for runners or walker of any ability. The concept started in England back in 2004 and has now spread worldwide, with over 2300 events from the USA to Japan. parkrun is a not for profit UK-registered charity and coordinates the events.
There are currently 9 parkruns in Denmark, with 4 in Copenhagen (Damhus, Fælledparken, Amager Fælled, Amager Strandpark) and also an event in Malmø.
Anyone wishing to run registers online, recieves a unique barcode, then can just show up at any event and take part.
