Dansehallerne / Professionals

Dansehallerne / Professionals Dansehallerne / professionals is a gathering point for passionate dance audiences and industry prof.

Dansehallerne is a national center for dance and choreography. Our focus lies in presenting and co-producing Danish and international productions for all ages. We are a gathering point for passionate dance audiences and industry professionals. From our center, we communicate professional knowledge of the art of dance, and we drive discussions about all aspects of the art of dance, at an intermediate level and in-depth. Dansehallerne focuses on the industry itself and on how to support the field of dance in the best possible way. By industry, we are referring to all professionals within the Danish (and global) environment of performing arts who may choose to use activities available at Dansehallerne. The purpose of our work with the industry is to create a framework for peer-to-peer mentoring and knowledge exchange, to stimulate an interdisciplinary and artistic environment, as well as provide a platform for the industry to connect. Amongst other industry-related activities, we offer daily training and workshops for professional dancers, industry events, and feedback on and supervision of artistic projects within our Project Center. A rare chance to meet one of Denmark’s most internationally acclaimed choreographers in conversation.

On the opening day of OPENINGS September 9, Mette Ingvartsen joins Danjel Andersson, Director and Artistic Lead of Dansehallerne, for an in-depth conversation revisiting her Yes Manifesto from 2004 - and asking what saying YES might mean for contemporary dance today.

Bringing together Ingvartsen’s artistic practice and Andersson’s extensive knowledge and experience from across the international dance field, the conversation offers a chance to get close to the ideas, shifts and questions shaping dance today.

And there’s more: the conversation opens with a special video contribution by André Lepecki, Professor of Performance Studies at NYU Tisch.

Ingvartsen is also at OPENINGS with the internationally acclaimed SKATEPARK, touring extensively around the world and playing at Dansehallerne 10–12 September. Don’t miss this either!

⭐️𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗝𝗘𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗘𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗘⭐️

After seven years as Executive and Artistic Director of Dansehallerne, Danjel Andersson will step down at the end of September 2026 to take up the position of Artistic Director at Dansstationen in Malmö.

🟡 Since joining Dansehallerne in 2019, Danjel has left a significant mark on both the organisation and the development of contemporary dance and choreography in Denmark. With a strong artistic vision, an extensive international network and a clear commitment to presenting works of relevance, depth and urgency, he has been a driving force during a defining period for Dansehallerne.

🟡 Under his leadership, Dansehallerne opened its new home in the historic boiler house, Kedelhuset, in Carlsberg City District in August 2024. Through initiatives such as the international festival OPENINGS and the new Yes - dance biennale (26 August - 28 September 2026), he has helped strengthen visibility, connection and collaboration across the dance field.

💛 We thank Danjel for seven remarkable years and look forward to continuing our close collaboration with both him, Dansstationen and the dance community across the Øresund region.
