As in previous years, we had the distinct pleasure of welcoming Rafael Soto this Easter for an exclusive 4-day clinic. Mr. Soto so generously shares his profound knowledge, invaluable insights, and refined techniques, making each session both inspiring and deeply educational.

It is truly a privilege to observe the different horse and rider combinations, each bringing their own expression and development to the arena.

Our sincerest thanks for a wonderful experience — we eagerly look forward to the next occasion. ✨🐎

Yesterday we attended the annual general meeting of Danish Warmblood Region 2.

We were incredibly proud to see Slangerupgaards Saffron being honored for selection, participation, and an outstanding result at the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden, where we received a breeder’s award. It’s still such a special feeling to have bred a horse that has achieved at this level 😍

We had a really lovely evening with fellow breeders and horse enthusiasts from our region—full of great conversations and happy reunions.

On February 22, we had the great pleasure of welcoming the Danish national para dressage team, who held their training camp with us.

The day focused on program training, where the skilled horse-and-rider combinations fine-tuned their tests and worked purposefully towards upcoming competitions. It was a true pleasure to witness the high level of quality, strong dedication, and the impressive partnership between riders and horses.

We are very pleased that the national para dressage team chooses to hold their training camp with us, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to follow these talented combinations up close.

✨ One year to remember ✨

On this beautiful day As the year comes to an end, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our partners, caretakers, staff, friends, and supporters for being part of the Slangerupgaard journey throughout the year.

One of the highlights of the year was Slangerupgaard’s Saffron and Anne Troensegaard, who was selected for the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Verden. A truly memorable achievement – winner of the qualifying round and an impressive 4th place in the final 🏆

This year also brought a special addition to Slangerupgaard with the arrival of Slangerupgaard’s Sahara, a beautiful foal and half-sister to Saffron, who has already captured our hearts. She is by One To Remember/Scolari.

We also pause to remember Alex Buchardt, who sadly passed away in the Fall. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Merchant with Vision

Alex Buchardt Pedersen founded and for many years owned Hørkram Foodservice, which he developed from a small local store into a nationwide player in the foodservice industry.
He was a true merchant – with a keen eye for quality, structure, and potential – and an unwavering determination to create and evolve. His leadership was characterized by decisiveness, integrity, and a strong belief that good results come through trust and hard work.

Slangerupgaard – A Passion for Horses

Alongside his business life, Alex developed a passion for horses and breeding. On his estate, Slangerupgaard, he created a place where quality, care, and vision went hand in hand.
Under his ownership, Slangerupgaard became known for breeding horses of the highest caliber – both nationally and internationally. Among several successes, the names Slangerupgaards Flottenheimer and Slangerupgaards Saffron stand as proud examples of his dedication and eye for excellence.

A Life of Purpose and Principles

Alex was a man of strong principles and a genuine belief in the value of good work. He held firmly to his ideas but always met people with warmth, humor, and loyalty.
To many around him, he was not only a leader or an owner – but an inspiration.

He is survived by his sons, Michael and Henrik, who both stood by his side and shared his dedication and vision.

With the passing of Alex Buchardt Pedersen, we have lost a man who, through his willpower, heart, and tireless energy, created something enduring.
His name will be remembered with respect – both in the business community and among horse enthusiasts, where his breeding legacy and values live on.
