Week 29 at København Danser Studios - yay!🙀☀️🌊
You know the drill: for us, it’s just another week filled with all kinds of goodies to keep you on your toes – literally.
Do make sure to check the schedule, as starting times tend to shift from week to week at this time of year. One thing that never changes, though, is our enthusiasm for swirling, twirling, shifting, jeté-ing, and having a whole lot of fun doing it.
There are no workshops this week, but the following week we’re bringing you none other than Holly Dorger herself, who will be teaching Ballet 1.1 for five consecutive days, starting on July 27 at 12:00.
You’d better get a secure spot, because it’ll be too good!! Head to our bio for more info.

Join us for another exciting Open Studio as part of the KDS Residency Program!
We look forward to welcoming you this Thursday, June 25, from 16:00–17:00 in the Erik Aschengreen Studio.
This round, you’ll meet:
Anna Borràs and Márton Debreczenyi – How to Hold a Heart
We immerse ourselves in the practice of “holding oneself”: the capacity to remain with oneself during the fall, without fragmenting any emotional experience, until the fall itself becomes the focus and the source of fulfillment.

KINISI / Tim Matiakis – TRANSLATED
TRANSLATED begins with a simple proposition: that the world we experience is always already translated through body, perception and context. During our residency at København Danser Studios, we have been investigating this proposition through movement practices, vocal work, walks, site-specific tests, conversations within the artistic team and dialogues with the project’s scientific advisory board. The sharing offers a glimpse into an ongoing process.
TRANSLATED is a new site-specific performance by KINISI, co-produced by Metropolis and premiering at the end of August 2026.

The days are getting longer, the weeks are flying by, and somehow we’re already heading into the final stretch of June.☀️
Luckily, there’s still plenty of dancing left to do.
This week’s schedule is once again packed with opportunities to move, groove, challenge yourself, and reconnect with your body. Whether you’re keeping your summer rhythm going or finding it for the first time, we’ve got you covered.
Because while others count down to vacation, we count in 5, 6, 7, 8 🎶 – hah!
Join us at København Danser Studio June 22–28 and make the most of every sunny day (and every dance break in between).

Love Arina’s ballet classes AND curious about contemporary dance?
This summer, here’s your chance to step outside the familiar. Over four afternoons, you’ll explore movement through sensation, flow, curiosity, and expression in a welcoming environment where there’s room to experiment, discover, and move differently.
While many dancers know Arina through her inspiring ballet teaching and Vaganova background, her experience extends far beyond classical ballet. Drawing on years of performing and working across different movement practices, she offers an approach that is thoughtful, holistic, and refreshingly free of pressure.
No need to “be contemporary” already — just bring your curiosity.

It’s time for another Open Studio as part of the KDS Residency Program!
We look forward to welcoming you this Friday, June 5, from 16:00–17:00 in the Erik Aschengreen Studio.
This time, you’ll meet the artist duo Mispronounced.
AARGH! is a contemporary dance performance that investigates the scream as a site of tension between social suppression and liberation. The work explores both the fear of judgment and the transformative power of finding one’s voice. Tracing a visceral journey from being silenced to being heard, the piece reimagines screaming as an act of reclamation, resistance, and freedom.
Why are we so afraid to be loud?

Dancers/Choreographers. Helena Alves and Mar Espona ( )
Music. Anadamastor by Dead Combo, Lisboa Mulata by Dead Combo, Maracas by Manel Siza
