The quest with this one was to build a bike that’s happy on forest trails, but still practical enough for everyday riding - with the style and feeling of a BMX.

The Surly Bridge Club turned out to be the perfect base and with fenders and a Pelago rack its perfect for daily use. Moto bars, Vans grips and a dropper post make for the BMX-like feel. Maxxis tires and a wide-range cassette promise adventure times on the trails.

Big refresh for this Trek Singletrack!

The extended derailleur hanger made it possible to keep the old XT derailleur while fitting a new 8-speed, wide-range cassette. With 40 teeth in the back and a 38T STRIDSLAND chainring up front, there’s plenty of range for hilly adventures. ⛰️

It might be tricky to spot in the picture, but those square-taper cranks are only 155 mm long. Perfect for shorter riders looking for a better fit. We also have them in black. 🫰

Finished with some good stuff: Berthoud Cycles saddle and SimWorks tires, mixed with a bunch of reliable silver components: TANGESEIKI headset, Kool Stop International Inc. brake pads, ESI Grips and Allways pedals by mkspedal.

🧡 Le Petit Porteur 🧡

This one is special not only for the colour but because we built it completely from scratch. Odyssey BMX shiny rims laced on silver Cues hubs. Then our own mount for the huge Wald basket. Topped of with the Søstjerne Cykler waffle bashguard 🫶. Ouff and that sideload bottle cage from Velo Orange is such a neat fit for those tiny frame spaces 🤩

Surly Preamble featuring a 8 speed wide range casette. Paired with the Stridsland 40T chainring this setup provides a versatile gearing thats at home on gravel and bikepacking adventures.

One of the biggest advantages of an 8-speed drivetrain is durability. The wider chain and sprockets tend to last longer than their narrower modern counterparts, making the bike more economical to maintain over time. The wider spacing between gears also makes setup and adjustment more forgiving - especially if you prefer running friction shifters.

First of all a bottom bracket shell fix and belt-drive frame split by - a real testament to the longevity, adaptability, and versatility of a steel frame. Then a classic choice of silver components in a beautiful mix of new and vintage parts. Whats your favourite detail? ✨
