📚✨ The Scientific Writing Workshop brought together researchers for an inspiring week of learning, collaboration, and scientific exchange.
After eight weeks of online preparation, 11 researchers from the CIHLMU Latin American Network met in Bogotá, Colombia, for the workshop’s in-person component, held from July 6–11, 2026.
Throughout the week, participants worked closely with international mentors to strengthen their manuscripts, receive personalized feedback, and exchange knowledge across disciplines, all within the One Health framework.
This face-to-face experience provided an invaluable opportunity to advance scientific publications, foster collaboration among partner institutions, and strengthen the regional research network through interdisciplinary exchange.
👏 Congratulations to all participants for their commitment, dedication, and outstanding work throughout the workshop. We look forward to seeing the results of their research published in the near future!

🎉 Great news from our CIHLMU alumni and professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Sonia Raboni! 🧬🔬
In 2024–2025, UFPR acquired NorayBanks, a web-based platform for managing biological sample collections in biobanks and biorepositories. Faculty, researchers, and technical staff from UFPR and CHC/EBSERH completed structured training, culminating in an in-person course in May 2026.
This initiative supports the implementation of the UFPR Biobank, a strategic infrastructure that ensures the quality, traceability, and availability of biological samples and associated data—strengthening research, innovation, and the development of new health solutions. 💡🏥
👏 Congratulations to Prof. Sonia Raboni and the entire UFPR team on this important milestone!

🌍 What we stand to lose: why long-term academic partnerships matter
For more than 15 years, CIHLMU has worked with universities across Africa, Asia, and Latin America to train future global health leaders and build lasting research partnerships.
Many of our alumni have returned to their home countries, where they continue to strengthen research, education, and One Health initiatives in their communities.
Today, these long-standing partnerships are at risk. The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) plans to phase out its funding for DAAD higher education cooperation programs with the Global South.
In our latest article, alumni including Nyanda Elias Ntinginya (Tanzania), Deepak Paudel (Nepal), and María Teresa Solís Soto (Bolivia) share how these partnerships have shaped their careers and contributed to stronger institutions and healthier communities.

Thank you to every participant who brought curiosity, passion, and a fresh perspective to the room - and to our amazing local partners for making it all possible. Already looking forward to next year! ✨🇳🇵
