No sé tocar los tambores batá, pero conozco el valor de sus patrones rítmicos y los utilizo como herramienta pedagógica para explicar a mis alumnos de dónde nacen determinados pasos y movimientos.

Mi objetivo no es enseñar batá ni sustituir la forma tradicional de enseñanza cubana. Es ayudar a mis alumnos europeos a entender que detrás de un paso de salsa hay mucho más que una simple figura: hay ritmo, historia, tradición y cultura.

En Cuba existen formas de transmitir este conocimiento que tienen todo el sentido dentro de su propio contexto cultural. Pero cuando llevamos esta riqueza a Europa, también tenemos que encontrar nuevas maneras de hacerla comprensible para quienes no han crecido dentro de esa cultura.

Adaptar la pedagogía no significa empobrecer la cultura.

Al contrario: significa encontrar el camino para que más personas puedan descubrir la profundidad que existe detrás de cada movimiento.

Porque la salsa cubana no son solamente pasos. Es una cultura llena de ritmos, raíces y conexiones que merecen ser entendidas. 🇨🇺🥁🔥
