Step 4: Don’t make excuses.
Identify negative thoughts and deal with them:
„I don’t have time“- Use your commuting time or your bath time :)
„I don’t have any money“- There’s free material online.
„I don’t like reading“-Watch, listen and speak.
„I forget everything I learn“- You might not remember everything, but you’ll remember something :)
„There’s so much to learn“- Learn just one thing, and you have achieved something.

How to be a better language learner?
Step 3: Set realistic goals. It’s unrealistic to want to „speak perfect German“. Even the goal of „learning more vocabulary“ is quite vague. Set a more specific target, like noting down two interesting words a day or underlining one beautiful sentence on every page of the book you’re reading. „Little, but often“ is a good motto.

How to be a better language learner?
Step 2 : Find your motivation- and use it. Imagine yourself speaking more fluently, addressing a meeting at work, discussing a story more confidently with your book group or helping your children with their homework. If you can see your goal, it will help you to achieve it. 🙂

Step 1: Be curious. Explore the world around you through the medium of German. Use your hobbies and interests as a starting point. Then explore further. Read a blog by a round-the-world sailor or watch a YouTube clip that shows you how to make your own chocolates, listen to podcasts, play games, talk to people...🙃🙂
