As we wrap up another fantastic year of sport at SGSC, it's time to celebrate our Athletes of the Year for 2026/27! 🤩

One student from each year group has been recognised for their outstanding effort, commitment, sportsmanship, and attitude throughout the year. Whether in PE lessons, fixtures, or extra-curricular clubs, these students have consistently led by example and made the most of every sporting opportunity. 🌟👏

A huge congratulations to all of our Athletes of the Year. We are incredibly proud of you and everything you have achieved this year! 💙

Term 3 done and dusted… and it's time to celebrate our final 'Athletes of the Term' for this school year! 🤩

These Primary students have been spectacular all term, showing fantastic effort, enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship in every PE lesson. 🌟👏

Lower Secondary Sports Day 🏆👟
 
What a fantastic day in the sun to wrap up the school year! Yesterday our Year 7, 8 and 9 students competed across a range of athletics events, including the shot put, javelin, long jump, high jump, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and relay races. The day finished with an exciting interhouse football competition. ⚽👏
 
A huge congratulations to Chaucer (red) House, who were crowned this year’s Sports Day champions, and to all our individual event winners! 🏆🎈
 
Well done to all of our students for an incredible day of competition, teamwork, and house spirit. 😎 A big thank you as well to all the staff who helped make the day run so smoothly!
 

🏆 PSL U11 Athletics! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
 
The final PSL event of the school year! On Wednesday, we hosted the Primary Sports League (PSL) U11 Athletics Competition at SGSC, welcoming St. George’s Düsseldorf and the European School RheinMain (ESRM) for a fantastic day of athletics. ☀️
 
Students competed across a range of traditional athletics events including sprints, middle distance races, jumps, throws, and relays, with every performance counting towards the overall standings. 🏅
 
Our athletes showed fantastic determination and team spirit throughout the day, and we’re delighted to share that SGSC finished 1st overall! 🥇 A huge well done to our team, as well to those who secured individual event wins. 👏
 
We are really proud of how our students performed and supported one another while representing SGSC on home ground. ☀️
 
A big thank you to ESRM, St. George’s Düsseldorf, and all the SGSC parents for joining us. And thank you to all the staff who helped make the day a success.

Nursery & Pre-Nursery Sports Day 🏅👟🐞🐛🐲

Today we celebrated our littlest athletes at SGSC with a wonderful morning of fun, smiles, and plenty of excitement! ☀️ From running, jumping, and balancing to lots of cheering from the sidelines, our Little Dragons, Caterpillars and Ladybirds gave every activity their best effort!

The fun didn't stop there, with our moms and dads joining in for some special races alongside their children. There were lots of laughs, big smiles, and some fantastic teamwork! 💙

Well done to our little superstars. We are so proud of you! 🌟 Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us today!

Reception Sports Day 🏅👟🐝🦋
 
Yesterday we hosted our annual Reception Sports Day, and what a wonderful morning it was! ☀️ With temperatures soaring across Germany this week, we were grateful to get started nice and early and enjoy the cooler conditions. 😎
 
Our Bumblebees and Butterflies threw themselves into a range of fun activity stations, showing fantastic enthusiasm, determination, and plenty of smiles along the way. The morning finished with some exciting class races, and of course, a few opportunities for parents to join in the fun too! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
 
Well done to all of our young athletes. We are so proud of you! 👏💙
 

What a fantastic day at our PSL U9 Athletics Festival! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
 
Our selected Year 3 and Year 4 athletes enjoyed a sunny and busy day of sport alongside students from St. George’s Düsseldorf. The festival featured a carousel of activities including the 30m sprint, 200m run, standing long jump, basketball throw, football dribble, nerf throw, and sack race! 🤩
 
The day finished with some exciting relay races, with plenty of cheering, smiles, and team spirit throughout. 👏
 
A huge thank you to our amazing Year 6 helpers, who were absolute superstars and supported our young athletes throughout the day. We would also like to thank all the parents who came along to cheer from the sidelines. 💙
