That’s a wrap!

We are taking our summer break for the Mind Takeaway Podcast and will be back in September with episodes we recorded on location in Salalah, Oman.
We chose Salalah becuase it is one place on our list we still had not had the opportunity to visit, and I had heard so many good things about it, especially the scenery, UNESCO heritage sites and trekking opportunities, so we were curious to find out more about this place.

Salalah is the capital city of the Dhofar region, famed for its unique monsoon season (Khareef), during which the place goes green, transforming the desert into a lush landscape and creating seasonal waterfalls, abundant wildlife, and natural beauty. Salalah was once a prosperous maritime powerhouse due to the incense trade, trading Frankincense from the remotest mountains in the Dhofar Region.

One thing that we noticed straight away was the quietness, the slower pace, the warmth of the people, and just the green colours (maybe becuase we have been living in a desert for almost a year). These images are not edited.

So this was the perfect place for us to relax a bit, slow down, immerse ourselves in nature, reflect, generate new ideas, and record a few episodes for you.

Shoutout to the Salalah Social Club, our base for our time there, which made for a wonderful backdrop of local farms with coconut palms, banana plants, and papayas.

2024 through 2025, we worked with an Esports team! And not just any team. We were working with champions and one of the biggest teams in Europe and in the World - MKOI, formerly known as Mad Lions, OverActive Media

We helped coaches develop their leadership and team coaching skills, overcome challenges both inside and outside the game, enhance collaboration, and win big! And we got to hang out with some pretty incredible young people, learned about esports, started to understand the complexities of League of Legends, and got to shout loud and hold our breath during some incredible competitions.

It may sound crazy, but reflecting back, I think we may have reversed our ageing for a few years :)
