I’m really only just dipping my toes into it. But I’m taking steps forward. One little card painting at a time 😇

It certainly brought my spark back. And have me the energy to keep going.

I started this account exactly a month ago, on July 26, so it felt like the right moment to actually introduce myself 🙈

Also, so many of you have joined just recently, which has definitely given me a big push of inspiration to keep going — thank you! Because let’s be honest, social media is a tough world. And I say that as someone who works in social media full-time! 😅

I’m not entirely sure where I’m going with my art journey yet, but it’s been a very fun ride so far. I hope you all stick around to experience it with me! ❤️

When does one even start calling themselves “an artist”? 🙈

Here are a few things I’m not ashamed to admit:

1. I use student-grade paints and affordable tools. I’m certainly going to invest in professional-grade pigments and other supplies, but I wanted to see if I was serious about painting before I did that.

2. I love a loose, semi-controlled painting style, and I was sure it would become my style. But in practice, I hated painting that way and almost gave up on watercolour altogether because of it. Everything changed when I let go of my own expectations and just started painting the way I like!

3. I certainly overwork my paintings at this point, and feel afraid to let the watercolour flow more. But I’m getting there.

4. After a year of painting, I’m still figuring out my own unique style and creative path. But I’ve made some pretty significant progress, and I’ll share more about that in another post!

But you have to take that step 🌻
