🌊 Across the Aegean Sea, the research teams of the Archipelagos Institute rely on STEINER binoculars during their daily marine fieldwork.
⛵ Whether from land or at sea, precise observation plays a vital role in identifying marine mammals, sea turtles and potential threats to their habitats.
🐬 By supporting year-round monitoring, STEINER binoculars help the team collect valuable data and gain a deeper understanding of marine biodiversity in one of the Mediterranean’s most important ecosystems.
This long-term research is essential for developing effective conservation measures and protecting vulnerable marine species and their habitats.

Steiner x Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation
🌊Steiner binoculars have become an essential tool in the long-range marine research of the Archipelagos Institute, supporting these crucial conservation efforts in the Aegean Sea.
⛵The research team at the Archipelagos Institute has been using Steiner binoculars to locate 7 species of marine mammals and 2 species of turtles in one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the Mediterranean and Europe, which is largely unknown and until now, totally unprotected.
🐬This vital equipment helps to support Archipelagos’ mission of carrying out continuous research year-round into marine mammal populations and anthropogenic stressors. This knowledge and data is a prerequisite in order to promote the designation and enforcement of targeted conservation actions.
