One Mold, Every Size (Ep. 14/32) [Winspace Factory Tour]

We demold a HYPER handlebar and learn how a single mold can produce multiple handlebar and stem sizes using swappable inserts, instead of needing hundreds of molds. This clip also solves a real customer mystery (a diameter mismatch traced back to the paint layer) and compares the 3-piece gravel handlebar with the newer, single-piece HYPER 2.

A fully wrapped rear wheel. Integrated aero extensions built into the cockpit. Hidden brake calipers inside a frame shaped around them to control airflow. The .bikes_official aero road bike is chasing every watt it can find. No wind tunnel data was on display, which raises questions. And while I was there, I got a close look at a nearby TT bike with a down tube shape that looks, honestly, like it was designed backwards. Draw your own conclusions.

Bonding the Seatstays (and Listening to Feedback) (Ep. 12/32) [Winspace Factory Tour]

We watch the rear seatstays get prepped for bonding to the rest of the frame before another trip through the oven and a final carbon wrap. In a candid moment, Winspace hears direct rider feedback about how tricky internal cable routing can be through this exact area — and commits to improving it.

The Underwater Bubble Test (Ep. 12/32) [Winspace Factory Tour]

After baking, every frame gets submerged in water to check for hidden air bubbles — a sign the air pressure wasn’t sufficient during molding and the frame could be defective. This one passes clean.

A front-mounted backpack for your cat or small dog, so they get exactly the same view you do on every ride. I have covered aero bikes, ultralight frames, and carbon everything from China Cycle 2026. And then there is this. If standing out from the crowd is your goal, this will absolutely do it. Whether that is a good thing I will leave to you.

No price. Almost no specs. SRAM RED, 1-by only, chainrings hidden inside the frame, cassette hidden, brakes hidden. The crank clears the frame by almost nothing, and when I clipped in, turning the front wheel was basically off the table. This Dragon bike is either the most extreme aero triathlon concept I have seen, or a bike that will never make it into production. No wind tunnel data, no answers. Just a lot of questions and a whole lot of attention.

Opening the Mold with the M6 (Ep. 10/32) [Winspace Factory Tour]

This is the moment the M6 mold opens to reveal a freshly baked frame, with visible remnants of resin that melted away during the bake. Winspace explains why layup and molding are the two most critical (and hardest to get right) steps, and shows how a tight, well-controlled layup leaves almost no wasted carbon, unlike lower-quality factories where sheets of carbon get stuck in the mold gaps.

After four days at the Shanghai Bike Show, one thing is becoming impossible to ignore. Western manufacturers are being caught, and in some areas passed. The bayonet fork and raised handlebar designs that took years to appear on European flagship bikes are now showing up on Chinese frames at every price point. This is a CAMP, T800 carbon, no weight listed. It looks aero. The question of who is actually leading innovation in road cycling right now is no longer as obvious as it once was.

The Vacuum Machine (Ep. 9/32) [Winspace Factory Tour]

Frames, forks, and handlebars all pass through this vacuum machine after layup, which sucks trapped air bubbles out through tiny holes for a tighter, cleaner bond. We also break down why Winspace still builds most frames in two pieces instead of one — one-piece molds are harder to heat evenly all the way to the down tube, which can leave the joints fragile.
