Makiwara is indispensable karate prop
and is used to strengthen the strength
of blocks, beats, striking surfaces and
at the same time develop the strength
of those muscle groups, joints and
tendons that participate in the
performance of a particular technique.
Makiwara strengthens the will and
increases concentration because the
strokes are repeated for a long time
and a decrease in concentration can
lead to injury.
Working on makiwara rehearses distance,
the body must be straight, which is very
important for young people in
developmental age and eliminates the
possibility of deformity.
Makiwara on tire is good for trainers
because it is mobile and easy to mount
on a wall, ripstol, pole, and on a trip to
a tree, in a flat on a wall behind wich is
styrofoam, felt, cork, sponge, to reduce
the noise generated during the
performance of impact.
Practicing karate and working on
makiwara srengthens the punch and there
is no need for a replay (because where
you hit, the grass doesn’t grow)
