Hoy dimos un importante paso para el futuro del Velerismo Radio Controlado en Chile. ⛵🇨🇱
En Parque Carén se realizó la firma del convenio que permitirá desarrollar la futura sede del Club DFs Chile, incluyendo la construcción de una laguna destinada exclusivamente a la práctica del Velerismo Radio Controlado.
Este proyecto busca crear un espacio especializado para entrenamiento, encuentros y competencias, integrado en un entorno natural y sustentable.
Seguimos avanzando para fortalecer nuestra comunidad y seguir impulsando este deporte en Chile.

A legend of broadcasting, a legend of sailing! Ted Turner is best known for being a media mogul and philanthropist, but his accomplishments in the field of sailing led him to be inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame in 2011!

As an amateur skipper, he won the America’s Cup in 1977 on Courageous. His win was immortalized on the cover of Sports Illustrated, titled "Terrible Ted Takes Command." This particular edition was signed by Turner himself and is on display at The Sailing Museum. Comment below if you've seen it in our Legends exhibit ⬇️

Turner's success in sailing began when racing Lightnings, dinghies at Brown University, Y-Flyers and Flying Dutchmen on Atlanta’s Lake Allatoona. He won Flying Dutchman Worlds in 1965, the SORC overall in 1966, and the 5.5 Metre Gold Cup in 1970. He won the coveted Congressional Cup (1977) and the Fastnet Race (1979). Turner is the only man who has been named Rolex Yachtsman of the Year four times.
