A record 320 runners and walkers registered for this years 48th Island Car and Bike Hire Round Rarotonga Road Race!
Each participant with their own persona reason to join the race coming from as far at the USA with the majority jetting across to paradise from New Zealand, Australia and Tahiti.

Marking 48 years of running round Rarotonga - the annual race continues to attract both seasoned Round Raro runners and newcomers both to the island and race.

The annual race has a three pronged purpose - to attract visitors to our little paradise, raising funds for Athletics Cook Islands youth development program and equally important - a vehicle for healthy living for our local communities to join and keep active.

Returning this year as major sponsor of the beloved event - Island Car and Bike Hire's generous support ensures the event continues to run for another 48 years to come.
Edgewater Resort and Spa - the home of Round Raro, generously contributed financially to the event as well as hosting many of the international runners and the event final prize giving event.
Vodafone Cook Islands kept all volunteers and support teams for the running of the race in contact with their sponsorship of the event - meitaki maata.

In the Round Raro Road Race - there are only winners!
The ultimate winner of the 31km road race in a time of 1:58:41 was 2023 winner Kit Edwards from Darwin.
In 2023 - Kit first visited Rarotonga for the race staying only a few days and returning again in 2024 to run again and stay longer to explore the island.
This year not only did he come back to win - Kit also ventured to Aitutaki to explore more of the beauty of the Cook Islands - highlighting the running events significant impact on the economy and overall wellbeing of the community.

Meitaki maata to the Girl Guides Association of the Cook Islands for their outstanding support of our runners manning 11 water station and joyfully encouraging every single runner and walker for 20 years!
