๐โค๏ธ CELEBRATING OUR CLUB โ THANK YOU NSFC FAMILY! โค๏ธ๐
As we wrap up the Round Cup and head into the Knockout Cup, itโs a perfect time to pause and recognise just how far weโve come together.
So often, we jump straight to the results the wins, the losses, the points for and against. But sometimes, the biggest victory is simply getting to the field.
At Nikao Sokattak Football Club, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who makes this journey possible:
๐ Our Players โ from 6 to 50 years old, you are the heartbeat of NSFC. Thank you for showing up to trainings and games, for balancing school, work, dancing, church, other sports, and still giving your best every week. We appreciate every bit of your commitment and effort.
๐ซ Aunty Macan and Aunty Mau โ you are the glue that holds this club together. From washing uniforms and feeding teams to attending meetings and quietly making everything run smoothly, you bring small moments of magic to our village through football. Most will never know what it actually takes.
๐ Our Coaches, Managers & Executive โ Dean & Louise, Navin & Aunty Kimi, JP & Mel, Apii & Amber, Courtney, Alex & Angela, Macan & Sean. Your time, patience, and dedication to development have been incredible. Youโve guided, supported, and inspired growth in every team. Itโs not always easy, but itโs what makes sport great, the excitement, the disappointment, the learning, and the love of the game.
This season, weโve seen huge steps forward in player development, team connection, and club spirit. The competition results are just the reflection of that growth:
๐ U18 Men โ Champions
๐ฅ Senior Men โ 2nd Place
๐ฅ U15 Boys โ 2nd Place (on goal difference)
Every single team has something to be proud of, on and off the pitch.
As we move into the Knockout Cup, remember: itโs not just about results, itโs about the journey, the growth, and the people who make it all possible.
Thank you, NSFC family. Players, coaches, parents, volunteers, supporters, and fans for another amazing competition. Letโs go! โค๏ธ๐

Saturday at CIFA HQ brought another exciting day of football for Nikao.
U15 Girls kicked off the day with a well-fought battle against Titikaveka FC. The girls continued to show a strong desire to play forward with control and possession, and the weekly rotation of goalkeepers gives them the chance to see the game from different perspectives. Despite some long balls and speed getting through, the girls should be proud of their effort and ongoing development. Every game is a building block for the future! Final score 0 - 4
The Senior Womenโs Team stacked up well against Titikaveka, building on last weekโs close match. Jennifer Akavi found the net from a perfectly placed Esther Kamoe corner to level the score at 1โ1. From there, both teams battled across the pitch with determination, and NSFC secured a valuable point.
The Premier Men showed improved control and off-the-ball movement, making the difference this week. The men dominated the day and chalked up a 5โ0 victory, with sharp attacking play keeping Titikaveka on the back foot throughout.
Next up, NSFC hits the road for midweek matches at Aretere Park vs Avatiu:

Wednesday evening at Takitumu School field saw Nikao U18 men line up against Titikaveka FC in a well-contested clash. Kick-off came a little later than planned, but that didnโt unsettle either side as both teams looked sharp from the start.
Nikao found their stride early, with Tamuera Newnham opening the scoring to set the tone. From there, Sokattak settled into an improved possession game, keeping the ball moving with confidence. While thereโs still more room to refine this style, itโs an exciting sign of the teamโs growth and the clubโs future.
Titikaveka pushed hard, breaking through the back line on several occasions and earning a penalty, only to be denied by the crossbar. At the other end, Mareva Pierre proved safe hands in goal, showing maturity and growth in his game.
Derek Doherty was a standout, constantly finding dangerous spaces, threading confident passes to unlock the defense, and putting in strong defensive shifts, winning crucial balls centrally and launching counter-attacks. His efforts were rewarded with a well-deserved goal to cap off a strong performance.
In the end, Nikaoโs composure and attacking flair shone through, sealing a 5โ0 victory with goals from Tamuera Newnham (4) and Derek Doherty (1).
With moments of real quality and growing confidence across the park, this U18 squad is shaping up as one to watch as the season progresses.

The NSFC Premier Men were back on the pitch this weekend against a familiar Matavera-Ngatangiia side in what proved to be an exciting second-round clash.
It was Nikao who struck firstโTeono Aberahama continued his fine form in front of goal, opening the scoring and once again proving why heโs been such a consistent threat this season. Playing alongside his brother Nathan, the duoโs speed and ability to link up disrupted play for the opposition.
Matavera-Ngatangiia pulled one back to level things, but before the half-time whistle, U18s standout Tamuera Newnham stepped up for the senior side and slotted home Nikaoโs second goal.
The second half, however, swung in favour of the opposition as they netted twice to take the lead. To make matters tougher, Nooti Peauโs sustained an injury, which meant Nikao finished the game with 10 men, but the side showed resilience to hold the line and stop any further damage.
Full time: Nikao 2 โ 3 Matavera-Ngatangiia.
Not the result the team wanted, but there are plenty of positives to build on. The men know the level theyโre capable of, and with more consistency, theyโll be right back to being the force we all know them to be.

Our NSFC Senior Womenโs team put on a solid performance at Nikao Field this weekend in their clash with Matavera-Ngatangiia.
There was a great vibe around the pitch, helped by the energy of playing at home and looking sharp in pink and blue. With a couple of senior players missing, the team carried on.
The game was tight, and for much of it, it looked like the women might sn**ch a well-earned point. But football can be cruel, and a ricochet off a defenderโs bun looped over the goalkeeper to seal the 0โ1 result.
Still, the signs are promising. The team is starting to close the gap, and with the U15 girls stepping up and bringing technical and tactical sharpness, the future is looking bright.
Jennifer Akavi caused plenty of problems on the left wing with her runs and crosses, and on another day those chances may find the net. The Matavera-Ngatangiia keeper managed some key saves, but the momentum is building.
This result may not have delivered points, but the trajectory is clearโkeep this up, and it wonโt be long before our Senior Women get the results they deserve.

Saturday at Nikao Field was filled with energy, laughter, and goals โ starting with our U15 Girls under the hot midday sun. With a full roster and even a U12 stepping up into the subs, the team was in a strong position right from the whistle.
True to form, the girls brought their trademark humour and smiles into their pre-match routine โ and carried that spirit straight onto the pitch. โฝ๏ธ

Tia Pitomaki opened the scoring in style, netting the first of her hat-trick.
Ever-reliable Toโoa Mouauri, always hustling up front, followed soon after.
Hefrani Nasimullu struck twice in quick succession, showing her sharpness in front of goal.
Before the halftime break, Pitomaki slotted home her second, giving Nikao a commanding 5โ0 lead.

The girls didnโt let up โ they kept their momentum, adding another 4 goals. Matavera fought hard, but the Sokattak pressure proved too strong, shutting down their chances to create opportunities.
What stood out most was how the teamโs hard work in training is now showing on the field. Their technical and tactical growth under Coach Courtney Napa, now in her third season with the squad, is clear.
๐โค๏ธ And the highlight? All three Nasimullu sisters got on the scoresheet โ something you donโt see every day!

On Wednesday afternoon at Takitumu School, the U18 Menโs clash was one of real uncertainty, an encounter that could have swung either way. Both sides entered the match determined, and the intent was clear from the opening whistle.
Teata Tetava gave NSFC the early edge, striking twice from the left flank in the first half. His second goal, however, came only after sustained pressure and resilience, as the score remained locked at 1โ1 then 2-2 for much of the game. Matavera-Ngatangiia showed their quality, pressing forward and creating opportunities of their own, but NSFCโs defensive structure stood tall.
At the back, goalkeeper Mareva Pierre was a steady presence, commanding his box with authority and producing several crucial saves that kept the team in the contest. His organisation from the back line gave NSFC the platform to withstand the pressure and build forward.
The decisive moment came through Taina Raina, whose tireless work across the pitch did not go unnoticed. He was everywhere. Breaking up play, supporting in attack, and driving the team on. His reward came in the form of the third and final goal, sealing a hard-fought 3โ2 victory for NSFC.
With key players still away on other commitments, this group continues to find ways to deliver. Goals, points, and the ability to stay at the top of the table speak volumes about their effort, resilience, and belief. The credit belongs not just to the goalscorers, but to the collective spirit this team shows.
