Thank you for a wonderful Beach Day out with Autism Cook Islands! The kids loved playing rugby, cricket, water polo and snorkling!
Kia Orana all, here is Our final update from Doha...
Day 6 we saw Mia Laban swim the Womens 50m Butterfly in a new PB of 30.08 beating her seed time by 0.17 sec. Such a Great achievement by this young swimmer with so much promise.
Day 7 had Lani Connolly in the Womens 50m Breaststroke where she too achieved a PB of 32.03 beating her seed time of 32.61 by 0.58sec and setting a new Cook Islands record.
And that brings us to the end of our race events here at Doha however, training continues daily as the swimmers prepare for their next events in about a month or so.
Overall, they have had very good swims, multiple PB'S and records, and a wealth of experience across the board. We are ever so thankful and grateful for all your support throughout this week and we as Swim Team Cook Islands under CIAF are very proud to represent our beautiful Nation and home, Cook Islands.
On another note, after checking and finalizing our times against CI records and World Aquatics data, we have to make a correction that the CI Womens 100m Butterfly was not broken at this World Championships and still stands at 1:05.17. We sincerely apologize for any confusion or misinformation for our human error. Meitaki.
