🧗‍♀️ Good news from the Via Ferrata Mürren–Gimmelwald!

The construction work planned for 28th–30th September has been cancelled, as the deconstruction of the transport cable car line was completed quicker than expected.

The Via Ferrata has been open again since Saturday and can be enjoyed as normal. 🙌

The season continues weather permitting until 31st October.

🍂 Autumn is one of the most beautiful times to experience the Via Ferrata — the changing colours, quieter trails and special atmosphere make it a truly unique adventure.

A little reminder: autumn conditions also bring some extra challenges. Wet leaves and changing weather can make sections of the route and forest trails more slippery, so good shoes and careful footing are especially important.

📩 Reservations for Via Ferrata equipment are still highly recommended. Please contact us in advance to reserve your set.

Please note: Intersport Mürren only provides Via Ferrata equipment rental and is not responsible for operating the route.

Due to construction work on the transport cable car line above the Via Ferrata, the route will not be accessible on:

📅 28th–30th September

No equipment rentals will be available on these dates.

We're fully booked for equipment rentals, and the route is expected to be busy over the next few days.

If you're heading out on the Via Ferrata:
💧 Bring plenty of water.
🥜 Pack a few snacks.
☀️ Don't forget sun protection.
⏰ Allow a little extra time and enjoy the experience.

Busy days often mean waiting at some sections of the route. Take your time, be patient with fellow Via Ferrata goers and soak up the incredible views above the Valley of 1000 Waterfalls.

🏔️ If the Via Ferrata Mürren–Gimmelwald is on your bucket list, don't leave it to chance.

There is a limit to how many Via Ferrata sets we can rent each day, and we regularly have to turn people away during busy periods.

📧 Send us an email at least 2 days in advance and we'll do our best to have everything ready for your adventure.

We usually reply within 12 hours, and your reservation is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from us.

See you above the Valley of 1000 Waterfalls. 🤘

🥾 Why do we care so much about shoes?

Because the Mürren Via Ferrata is a little different.

Unlike many Via Ferratas, our route is mostly downhill and includes long sections of forest trail. Depending on the weather, these trails can be muddy, slippery and surprisingly demanding.

That's why we check footwear before renting equipment. We look for shoes with a sturdy, intact profile and good grip.

It's not just about your own safety. A slip can also put other people on the route at risk.

We want everyone to enjoy an unforgettable adventure above the Valley of 1000 Waterfalls and return safely with a big smile.

That's also why we offer rental hiking boots for guests whose footwear isn't suitable for the route.
