World OCR

🇪🇺Our Erasmus+ Sport initiative is moving forward.

From August 23–30 2026, at the NSU Tata Olympic Center in Hungary, World OCR will operate the first program of its kind under our framework.

Obstacle-based sports are not only about organizing events. They are also about preparing people to deliver safer, better managed sport activities for all intergenerational age groups.

Together with the Romanian and Hungarian Federations(MAFUSZ), and co-funded by the European Union, World OCR is supporting practical capacity-building, better event operation, and the delivery of safer obstacle sporting events worldwide.

National federations, clubs, organizers, and athletes interested in developing similar programs in their own countries under World OCR guidance are encouraged to get in touch at [email protected]

At the OCRATHLON 600m World Cup, Segment 3 is a technical 200-meter corridor testing grip, agility, and upper-body precision. Max 2 attempts per OCR Obstacle. On failure, runners must loop back outside lanes to restart the OCR obstacle.

At the OCRATHLON 600m World Cup, The second section includes strength elements. The total length of the power track is 200 meters.

💪Triceps Bar Segment (Entry): 4-meter long overhead clearance.
💪Kettlebell Carry Segment 1 (45m): Farmer’s carry, 2 Kettlebells.
💪Bag Carry (90m): Gorilla Bag Carry with elevation over two consecutive platforms (45cm & 60cm high)
💪Kettlebell Carry Segment 2 (45m): Carry the initial 2 kettlebells back to the starting line.
🔥SkiErg 200m Challenge: Complete your category’s designated distance.
💪Triceps Bar (Exit): Leave the strength track via the 4-meter bar.

At OCRATHLON 600m World Cup, segment 1 is a pure test of explosive acceleration and footwork.

Two athletes compete simultaneously on the course. They start from identical, fully symmetrical lanes located on opposite sides of the same end of the track.

Each athlete runs in a 3-meter-wide and 100-meter-long lane, running back and forth around a turning cone for a total distance of 200 meters.

A major milestone has been reached for the development of both Hungarian and international OCR as a sport. Over the past few weeks, the first batch of OCR-specialized students at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Hungary successfully defended their theses and passed their final examinations. Through institutional cooperation, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University and the prior Hungarian OCR Federation (HOCRA) have jointly created a unique higher education program unlike any other in the world. As a result, six students successfully completed their final examinations and defended their theses.

The university-level qualification fills a significant gap on the international level, providing a significant benefit to the global OCR sports communities. The BSc degree enables graduates to conduct higher-level sports science research and contribute to the expansion of international OCR literature. 

The national and international professional framework continues to grow, as an agreement has been reached between Hungary’s two OCR governing bodies – HOCRA and MAFUSZ (affiliated internationally to World OCR) – to integrate their educational systems. The university program will of course continue!
