ISF (International School Sport Federation)

Earlier this year, 𝗠𝘂𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 in Kuala Lumpur marked an important milestone in ISF’s cooperation with International Federation of Muaythai Associations and in the continued development of new opportunities within international school sport.

The championship combined sporting competition with an educational programme delivered by 𝗜𝗦𝗙 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆, including sessions on anti-doping, safeguarding and mental health. The cooperation is already moving forward, with ISF and IFMA engaging with potential host cities for the next international school Muaythai event.

As the 2026 calendar continues, young athletes and ISF member organisations can also look ahead to the 𝗜𝗦𝗙 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 in Morocco and the 𝗜𝗦𝗙 𝗚𝘆𝗺𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗱𝗲 in Rio de Janeiro.

A new chapter in ISF governance

On 21 July, the ISF Ordinary General Assembly elected the 𝗜𝗦𝗙 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺.

Conducted under the supervision of the Electoral Committee, the election brought together ISF Member Federations to determine the ISF's leadership for the next four years.

The new ISF EC brings together experienced members of the ISF leadership and new faces, combining institutional knowledge and continuity with fresh perspectives and new ideas for the future of international school sport.

During the 𝗜𝗦𝗙 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in Belgrade, along with 𝗭𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗷𝗶𝗰́, Minister of Sport for the Republic of Serbia Ministarstvo sporta , ISF President 𝗭̌𝗲𝗹𝗷𝗸𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗰́ held high-level meetings with:

- 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗼 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗶𝗿𝗼, Minister of Sports of Brazil;
- 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗻, Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education of Egypt;
- 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗺, President of the UAE Federation of School Sports;
- Senior representatives of CBDE - Confederação Brasileira do Desporto Escolar and 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁;

The meetings provided an opportunity to exchange views on the development of school sport and to strengthen international cooperation around shared priorities.

ISF Vice Presidents 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗳 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗾𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶 and 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼̂𝗻𝗶𝗼 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗵𝗼, and Secretary General 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗲 𝗘𝗹 𝗔𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗶 𝗘𝗹 𝗜𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶 also attended the meetings.

Global School Sport Community Gathers in Belgrade 🇷🇸

Representatives of ISF Member Organisations and leaders from the worlds of sport and education have been gathering in Belgrade, Serbia, ahead of the ISF General Assembly 2026.

For many, the gathering is also a chance to meet old friends, reconnect with colleagues and exchange ideas with partners from across the global school sport community.

Delegates and leaders from different continents are now coming together for an important moment in the life of the Federation — reviewing the work of the past period, discussing the future direction of ISF and preparing for the election of a new ISF Executive Committee.
