Rockshox Reverb AXS service - ft. Knipex Pliers 🔥🦜 One of the most underrated and underappreciated parts of your mountain bike is the dropper post, it is also one of the most neglected components of the bike 🧐 Although their job is pretty simple, most modern dropper posts use a pressurized hydraulic system, the pressure helps extend the post when no weight is applied 🤘 You're basically floating on oil. When you apply weight to the saddle, the only thing preventing it from compressing it is oil. Fluids are not compressible, so when the valve is closed, the oil does not have anywhere to go, effectively holding you in place 🤙 When the valve is open, oil can flow in/out of the main chamber to allow you to drop/raise the saddle 🪑 In the case of the Reverb, the air and oil are (ideally) separated by an IFP, but over time, air pressure can make its way into the oil 👀 Fluids don't compress, but gases do. So when air creeps into the oil, the dropper may start to "SAG", or compress a bit when you apply weight. ⚠️ The Reverb C1 and Reverb AXS now feature a "Vent Valve", which can help purge the air bubbles out, which is awesome, but only works a few times, as the IFP height can be affected with this procedure, eventually needing the service as well 👨‍🔧 We've received so many comments about our @knipex_official Parallel Pliers that we had to make them the protagonist of the video, we had several people hating and calling them all kinds of birds 🦜, likely confusing it with some kind of pipe wrench 🔧 These are among our favorite tools, they use smooth parallel jaws that grip securely without damage and are used by professionals around the world 🌎 Tool part numbers in the comments 🤘 🎥: @maxguerramtb 🔧: @mosco_01
