I almost forgot to shoot more vids for the „Making Of.“ Apologies for the missing steps! I just blended in some colors with the airbrush. Still woking with the scalpel and color pencils.

🚨Just like over the last few weeks, when it’s crazy hot outside, I sometimes have to interrupt my work. It’s sooo warm today, our biggest furry friend needed a shower!
Since I am currently working on this detailed fur desing, I thought it was a perfect match 😄

🇨🇭late tbt AIRXESS SHOW CASE, Alec at work🇨🇭

We had already used thermochromic pigments in previous mask designs, but they were the perfect fit for Nolan Schaefer’s mask!
When Nolan came to our studio in Bern, he asked for a striking red cross on a black background. „It needs to pop,“ he said. An easy task, Alec thought —
until Nolan added the real challenge: he wanted very personal psalms on the mask, but they had to remain hidden.

Alec suggested temperature-dependent colors. On the ice, the background stays black. But in the warm locker room or at home, the black pigments turn transparent, revealing the psalms. To top it off, Alec made the text look like it was chiseled into stone. Nolan was blown away by both the idea and the final result!
So, when you see photos of him wearing the mask back in 2015, you now know there is a hidden secret.
