Well, Instagram made the introduction 👋
I talk cycling, performance, injuries and what I’ve learned working inside professional cycling.
Stick around if you ride bikes.
Sports Chiropractor Martin Kumm
"I help top athletes reach their goals" I am based in Basel, Switzerland, but due to my work I travel all around the world. What method do I use in my work?
About me
I am Martin Kumm, I am a sports chiropractor with an academic background and more than 10 years of experience working with some of the best athletes and coaches in the world. My main goal is to help the athletes achieve their maximum potential, using a unique method that gives excellent results. The most used method of training as much and as hard as possible will usually end up getting t
He came in because of symptoms around his knee.
A few minutes later, his calf and the back of his knee felt completely different.
But we weren’t treating the knee.
That’s why I’m more interested in understanding the pattern than simply chasing the painful spot.

When your body starts giving you the full playlist 😂
Back pain + knee pain doesn’t always mean you have two separate problems.
Sometimes you need to stop chasing where it hurts and start understanding the pattern.
Pain is information.
Confidence on the bike isn’t only built by riding more.
It’s also knowing your body has options when the road gets steep, you’re tired, or the load starts building.
One area I think cyclists often neglect: the adductors.
We talk endlessly about glutes and core, but your adductors are part of how you control the hip, pelvis and leg while producing force.
These 3 exercises combine adductors with glutes, trunk control and movement in different planes.
You don’t need 20 exercises.
You need a body you can trust when it matters. Ride with confidence.
Your body is giving you information.
Google — and ChatGPT 😎 — only have part of the story.
Google will always give you the answer you’re looking for. 😎
The smarter question isn’t:
“Can I ride?”
It’s:
“Do I understand what my body is telling me?”

Pain tells you where it hurts.
Not always where the problem starts.
Follow the pattern, not just the pain.
The best athletes I’ve worked with aren’t better at ignoring pain. They’re better at understanding what their body is telling them. That’s a skill every cyclist can develop. Follow for more insights from inside professional cycling — and how they apply to the rest of us.
Your body usually whispers before it screams. We’ve all had this conversation with ourselves. The question isn’t whether you feel something. It’s whether you understand what it’s telling you.
The best athletes I’ve worked with don’t just tell me where it hurts. They tell me where it starts. That isn’t talent. It’s years of listening to their own body.
Maybe becoming a better cyclist isn’t only about getting fitter. The body whispers long before it screams. The best athletes have simply learned to hear the whisper.
