Leadership doesn't start at work.

It starts with the team of one you've been neglecting.

You've led before — teams, functions, departments across borders. Then you moved, turned all that capability outward, and left none of it for your own life. You manage everyone's transition but your own.

Here's the reframe: reclaiming your voice isn't self-help. It's leadership. Setting direction, holding boundaries, naming what matters — the exact same muscles.

We just don't call it leadership when the team is a team of one. But it is.

Lead one decision this week that's only about you. And if you're ready to stop doing it alone — Your Choice opens 16 September and closes on the 24th. Twelve places, first five to enrol save 20%. Comment CHOICE and the waitlist goes first. 👇

You used to have an answer. A title, a role, a life that was clearly your own.

Then came the move. And another. And somewhere between the schools, the languages and the endless logistics, the question got harder to answer — until one day you heard yourself say "oh, I'm just with the family right now."

If that hesitation is familiar, you're not alone, and nothing's wrong with you. This is what happens to capable women who spend years making everyone else's life work abroad.

I'm Heike — I coach expat women back to themselves. This summer, before my programme Your Choice opens in September, I'm sending a series of exclusive letters to a small group of women — more honest and personal than what I post here.

Comment LIST and I'll bring you in. (Or DM me the word, if you'd rather keep it private.)

Living abroad can be exciting… and exhausting.
People see the adventure — but not the moments where you wonder who you’ve become while holding everything together for everyone else.

Maybe you’ve said:
“I’m fine, I’ll adjust.”
“I don’t need support.”
“I should be grateful.”

But inside?
You feel a quiet ache. A longing for purpose, direction, identity — you.

That’s why I created Your Choice, a transformational programme for expat women who want more than coping or surviving.

The next round begins September 16 — and if you’re ready to reconnect with yourself, this is the perfect moment to step in.

Inside the programme, you’ll learn how to:
🌱 rebuild confidence
🌱 reconnect with your identity
🌱 set boundaries without guilt
🌱 bring purpose and joy back into your life abroad
🌱 take action on dreams you’ve postponed for years

If this speaks to you, I’d love to have you.
You can sign up now or book a call with me to see if it’s the right fit.

"When the kids are older." "When we've settled." "When the next move is behind us."

You've been saying it so long it stopped sounding like waiting. But that's what it is — and the right moment you're waiting for has a way of never quite arriving.

So let's not wait for it.

I'm Heike, and I coach expat women back to their own ambitions, identity and voice. This summer, before my programme Your Choice opens in September, I'm sending a series of exclusive letters to a small group of women who are ready to stop putting themselves last — honest, personal writing you won't find here or in my newsletter.

It's not a waiting room. It's where you begin.

Comment LIST and I'll bring you in. (Or DM me the word, if you'd rather keep it private.)

You're not waiting anymore. You've felt that shift — the one where "later" stopped being an answer you believed.

But the live calls never lined up. Wrong time zone, wrong hour, a house that needed you exactly then. So the moment to actually sit with any of this kept sliding.

This is the Claim Call — the whole session — made for that. Self-guided, done at your own pace, paused whenever life interrupts and picked back up when it's quiet again. No fixed time, no fixed zone. Built for a woman with a full life who has decided she's ready anyway.

In it, we do three things together: see the pattern you've been carrying, name what you actually want, and claim one concrete step you can take this week. You come out with something real — not inspiration, a step that's yours.

It's free. It's waiting. Watch it the moment you're ready.

I've made the edits in every country I've lived in. Softening this, not saying that, folding a preference away to keep the peace. Each one invisible. Each one reasonable.

It's never the single edit that costs you. It's the thousand of them, adding up to a self you have to translate before you can show it.

Belonging isn't the enemy — adapting is how you built a life somewhere that wasn't yours. The trouble is when you stop asking what it's costing, and it keeps taking long after the price was worth paying.

You're allowed to belong and stay whole. It just means noticing which edits are courtesy, and which have become erasure.

Save this, then undo one edit this week — and watch belonging survive it.

You finally fit in. So why does it feel like this? 🤍

When you arrived, belonging was the whole project. You studied the culture. Softened the parts that drew the wrong attention. Learned which opinions travelled well and which to keep at home.

It worked. But the version of you who belongs is a careful edit — and you've been editing so long the original feels far away.

Here's the trade nobody names: belonging and authenticity pull in opposite directions. Every edit is reasonable on its own. It's the thousand of them that cost you.

You're allowed to belong AND stay whole. But you have to stop letting the choice make itself.

You didn’t lose yourself all at once.
It was one reasonable edit at a time. Soften this. Don’t mention that. Keep that opinion at home. Each one made sense. None of them felt like a loss.

Until you looked up one day, fit in beautifully, and couldn’t quite find yourself in the room. Belonging asked you to blend. Nobody warned you how much of you would go quiet in the process.

But here is what I want you to hear: you don’t have to choose between fitting in and staying whole. You just have to stop letting the edits happen on autopilot.

Comment LIST and I’ll add you to the Your Choice summer waitlist – curated, personal content over the coming weeks. This is where it starts.

The beautiful life abroad. The travel, the opportunity, the privilege everyone reminds you to be grateful for.

All true. And still — somewhere underneath it — the quiet feeling that you've slowly disappeared into everyone else's life. That you're managing a wonderful existence that doesn't quite feel like yours.

Both things are true at once. Being grateful doesn't mean you stopped having your own ambitions.

I'm Heike. I work with expat women who are ready to feel like a whole person again — not just a partner, a mother, the one who holds it all together. This summer, before my programme Your Choice opens in September, I'm gathering a small group of women for a series of personal letters — the honest conversation I don't have in the feed.
