Meet Kyra Marett 🇳🇿! She is joining the UCI WCC Continental Team as a stagiaire.
“Coming from New Zealand, it’s a long way from home — and very expensive. Financially it was super difficult. I spent my summer milking cows to afford racing my bike overseas. So to have an opportunity with the Centre, with so much support, is beyond what I ever could have dreamed of. And I’m ready to give it my all.”
She wasn’t kidding. Yesterday in Italy, in her first race in the colours, she walked away with the most combative rider prize.
Welcome aboard Kyra! 😎

937 kilometres from the Normandy coast to the Italian Alps. Six of ours started the Tour de l'Avenir and six finished! Bravo 👏🏼

They all wore the UCI World Cycling Centre jersey at the 62nd edition. From Ouistreham on the Normandy coast, across France, then into the mountains: an 11.4 km uphill time trial to Flaine, Les Saisies–Roselend–Iseran in a single day, and a thirty-kilometre final climb to Lago Serrù in Italy.
During the week, they met UCI President David Lappartient and five-time Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault.
Against pro development they fought bravely through the different stages.
We are proud of them!

First camp. First riders. First gates 🇲🇾
Eight months after its inauguration, the UCI WCC Regional Development Satellite in Johor Bahru hosted its very first activity: a BMX Racing training camp paired with a UCI Coaching Course Level 2.
Nine riders on track 🇲🇾 🇮🇩 🇹🇭 🇮🇳 🇵🇭 🇸🇬
Nine coaches from seven nations in the classroom. Seven days of gate work, rhythm sections, race simulation.
ACC President Dato’ Amarjit Singh came to see it in motion mid-week.
This was activity number one. Not the last 🚀

🥉🥈Two medals in three days at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Nicholas Paul took bronze in the team sprint alongside Njisane Phillip and Zion Pulido, Trinidad and Tobago’s first cycling medal of Glasgow 2026. On Saturday he added silver in the individual sprint, coming through his quarterfinal and semifinal before running into Australia’s Leigh Hoffman in the final.
That makes five Commonwealth Games medals in his career. In 2022 he took the full set: keirin gold, sprint silver, kilo bronze. The gold ended a 52-year wait for a Trinidadian cycling medal at these Games.
He trains here, in Aigle. And since 2022, a UCI World Cycling Centre Satellite in Couva has meant the next generation of Caribbean riders no longer has to cross an ocean to do the same.

Stage 2 of the Le Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in Aigle! 🇨🇭
Eight riders of UCI World Cycling Talent and the six of the UCI WCC Road Team were on that start line, next to Demi Vollering, Pauline Ferrand‑Prévot, Alison Jackson, and a world champion who wore the same WCC jersey here before turning pro.
Then their own parade on the opening kilometres of the route, ahead of the race, past the building where they train every day.
Swipe for the happy faces 😀!
