Officers had to track down a kangaroo in Australia after it stole a pregnant woman’s purse.

On May 23rd, a pregnant woman was walking along the sidewalk when a kangaroo suddenly jumped toward her near the street.

Startled, she swung her purse without thinking, and the kangaroo grabbed it right out of her hands.

She tried to pull it back, but the kangaroo wasn’t letting go. When it looked like it might kick, she let the bag go and fell back onto the ground, shaken but luckily not seriously hurt.

Paramedics checked her and said she was okay, but police now had a stranger problem. They were looking for a kangaroo with a woman’s purse.

Not long after, another call came in about a kangaroo causing panic near a bus stop, running toward children while people tried to get out of the way.

When officers arrived, they knew it was the same one.

The purse was still sticking out of its pouch.

One officer managed to get close enough to sn**ch the bag back before the kangaroo finally hopped away like nothing happened.

Wildlife officials later monitored the animal, but after that day, it didn’t cause any more trouble.

People online joked that the kangaroo had gone rogue for one afternoon, stole a purse, scared a few people at a bus stop, and retired from crime before sunset.

Police are seeking public help to find a woman missing from Park Avenue in Rockhampton. Keesha Jones was last seen on June 14 at a Main Street residence and has not contacted family since June 17. Her family hold concerns for her safety as this is out of character. She is described as 24-years-old Caucasian, 160cm tall, medium build with brown hair and brown eyes. Investigators are appealing for Keesha or anyone with further information to contact police.
