The City of Yellowknife has been working with consultants Urban Systems on a Transportation Master Plan, and it's ready for review!
https://www.yellowknife.ca/final-yk-transportation-plan

If you want Yellowknife to develop safer, more comfortable streets for Everyone, we recommend that you download a copy, make notes, and share your feedback with members of Council ([email protected]) before it is considered for final adoption. It is expected that council will vote on the plan September 23, 2026. If you wish to make a presentation on the 23rd - you probably need to contact [email protected] by Sept 18, 2026)

NOTE: To help lighten the load of your review - Pages 178-325 that have "Malatest" logo on it - is the report on the travel survey from 2025 - so that information is provided for context.

Happy reading!

Ludvig, our non-electric (acoustic) city bike is available Friday, September 4, 2026 for rental. Visit https://shiftnwt.org to book it! You must be available for the Pick-up at 5:15pm on Friday at Somba K'e Amphitheatre. You then get to borrow the bike for 2 weeks - at no cost - hopefully using it as your primary mode of transportation, and then return is on September 18, 2026.
This bike rides SO smooth and is extremely comfortable.
