Hey! What an excellent weekend at Folk On The Rocks!
If you were one of the people who needed to borrow bike lights for a late ride home this past weekend, please send us a message so that we can get them back and use them again next year!

We love events where people can come together and listen to music and enjoy each other's company.
And so it's no surprise that we love supporting Folk On The Rocks...
Consider riding your bike to FOTR, and if you don't wanna ride alone, there will be group rides starting at the Frame Lake Trailhead... check the schedule! Sign up! Rock to Folk with a Bike Jam. 🎶

Are you planning to roll up to Folk on the Rocks this year on a bike? Interested in riding there with a group of other folkers? SHIFT NWT will host two daily group bike rides to Folk on the Rocks Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! The rides start at the Frame Lake trailhead, across from the Lakeshore Co-op. For more information or to sign up - visit https://forms.gle/C15D9FAN3G5yaiCC7
There are no group rides scheduled returning to town, but you can meet up with other riders outside the main gate. And don't forget your lights if you're coming home after dark!

Next time you're looking for a place to sit for lunch, or meet a friend, or just take a break and read a book, stop by the parklet on 51st Ave next to Barren Ground Coffee !
The parklet project was initiated by the YK Healthy Urban Policy Team (YK HUPT) and evolved through community collaboration, including a public call for submissions, Makerspace workshops, and volunteer-led design processes. It was built over the winter with funding provided to YK HUPT and was originally installed in front of the Snow Castle.
When the YK HUPT wrapped up, SHIFT NWT took over stewardship of the parklet and stored it until summer.
Now, thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers and the support of Barren Ground Coffee, the parklet is once again available for everyone to enjoy; There is seating, a table, a giant Connect Four, a chalk board, a book and toy lending library, a community message board, and some pretty flowers! We've put a lot of work into this and we hope you'll stop by and enjoy it!
The parklet is a great example of what can happen when a community comes together to create positive change. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality!

ROCK to FOLK! Tune up your bike, pick out your favourite threads, ride with us to FOTR!!

🚗 Our parking lot has extremely limited space, and we do not encourage you to park on the highway.

🚴 If you are able to take alternative methods of transportation, we strongly encourage you to do so.
