Old Town Paddle & Co.

It was an amazing run of 10 years, and we would like to formally announce that Old Town Paddle & Co. will be shutting down prior to the 2023 summer season.

We started this little business out of the garage in 2012 when we found a love for stand-up paddling and wanted to share the sport with friends, visitors, and our community. When we started, we were the only ones in town who had SUP equipment or even knew what it was.
Since then, we have certified hundreds of folks under Paddle Canada skills courses, rented equipment to even more, have toured some truly spectacular spots in the NWT, travelled across Canada to learn new skills and paddle new terrain, started our own board and equipment brand which launched across Canada, organized races and fun community events, and sold hundreds of more boards, paddles and accessories to paddlers stoked to get on the water. Fast forward to 2023, and SUP is everywhere!

We are proud to have brought this sport to Yellowknife and happy to see just how much it has evolved.

With family, life, commitments, and other interests taking priority, we just didn’t have the time to continue giving the attention to OTP that it (and its customers) deserved.

Although OTP will be no more, there are some great businesses in town here to help. Sundog Trading Post is starting a SUP rental service this summer and Overlander Sports is sure to be there to help with retail needs. Please continue to support local.

We will stay involved in the sport at a personal level and continue to be avid paddlers.
