Avery's strength and perseverance is astounding. Thank you, Cabin Radio for sharing her story and the ongoing road to recovery. The Groenewegen's are such an important part of our Biathlon family ❤️

In the NWT, relay races are synonymous with team outfits, today that meant tutus and leis! We obviously had to show off at this year's Whitehorse 2026 Arctic Winter Games

Today's relay race was a wonderful way to wrap up the games. Athletes got to compete in a team, Coach Charlie raced (in jeans no less!!) and Maisey Murray (ex-AWG athlete and Yellowknife Biathlon Coach) was out cheering loud and proud! Oh, and it wasn't ridiculously cold!

Athletes are now off to celebrate and prepare for tomorrow's closing ceremony!

Mass start day!

Yesterday, athletes enjoyed a well-deserved rest day. They explored the town, learned a lot at the MacBride Museum of Yukon History, went thrifting, and even squeezed in some much-needed shoe shopping. A day well spent!

Today they competed in the mass start events — one of the most exciting formats in biathlon. All athletes start at the same time and complete penalty loops for every missed shot, which often makes the finish line the true decider of final positions.

Jaxin Coombs once again came out on top, completing his 5 km race in an incredible 21 minutes. Logan Doll also found his way back onto the podium, claiming his third ulu of the Games.

The rest of the team delivered strong performances as well, battling it out on the course and showing great resilience on the range. Special congrats to Carys Lyall and Jenny Murray who both shot 4/5 on target on the windy range! Every athlete put together a race to be proud of.

The cold never bothered us anyway❄️

NWT athletes are built different - during the cold weather delay they swapped equipment and went out to explore the course, enjoying the weather. They played cards and Jenny Murray won the Ecoaims tournament!

The delay meant the snowshoe and ski events events were one after the other - meaning a busy day out on the range for all! Thank you to our hard working coaches and all the volunteers at Whitehorse 2026 Arctic Winter Games for all the hard work.

Jaxin Coombs came out on top for the U15 boys and earned himself a GOLD ulu! Logan Doll is now two for two winning a silver ulu on today event and Jack Lyall snuck in and got himself a well deserved bronze ulu. Well done, boys !

Every single competitor out on the trails today showed perseverance, dedication and grit through the cold. We are so impressed!

We are so proud of all the biathletes.

Rest day tomorrow and we continue with events on Thursday!
