Yellowknife Karate Club

This is a general announcement to all students that attended our this year. Our club is back to its home Mildred Hall School Dojo and our normal schedule as follows:

Tuesday: 6:30 to 8:30 PM - 8:00 PM ends for kids
Thursday: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM - 8:00 pm ends PM for kids
Saturday: 11:00 AM to 1:00PM - 12 noon ends for kids

Our club has an approval from the CHO office and all of our students over 12 are vaccinated, so no need to be nervous about COVID, we follow safety rules and kids can wear masks if they wish.

Congratulations to Paul Gentleman and Vincent Lumacad or brand new 1st degree black belts!!!

YK Wado Karate Club will be holding its 2021 Karate Camp on June 4th, 5th and 6th 2021. It will be three days and two nights on the first weekend of June. Camp is located just past Cameron Falls!!

Students will practice Wado karate, Shindo (3 foot staff), Kobudo weapons such as bo staff, sai and tonfa, kumite, karate bunkai and other training!!!

This is open to kyu belts, brown and under, from other karate clubs in the NWT. Age for other clubs is 7 years and up.

Also, no camp would be complete without plenty of barbequing and food, and also swimming during free time!!!

Oh, by the way, for less than 2 dollars per hour would you like to experience the following???

Drop into Mildred Hall School Front Gym on Tuesday at 6:30 Pm to 8:30 pm or Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8;30 PM or Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM at St. Joes school and register with our club!!!

The YK WADO KARATE CLUB is the ONLY karate club in the NWT that offers black belt training in Wado Karate, Shindo (3 foot staff) and Matayoshi Shimpo Kobudo (Okinawan Weapons Training) for the ridiculously low price of 2 dollars per hour of training.

Compare that to 18.50 an hour for dance training for instance, and other arts that charge high prices for training.....

Classes restart January 5th, Tuesday at 6:30 PM, and Thursday at 6:00 PM at Mildred Hall School Front Gym. Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph School Gym

Our last class before xmas is Saturday, December 19th at St. Joe's School and we return to classes after the xmas break on Tuesday January 5th, 2021

2021 will be amazing for our club and we commit to ensure COVID doesn't prevent us from doing what we do!!

Grading day tomorrow, Thursday December 3rd, Mildred Hall School Front Gym. Try to be there by 5:50 PM to arrive a bit early. Do your best!
