Hockey's best teammates sometimes have four legs! We couldn't resist sharing this one from Hockey Canada. Happy to all the hockey dogs across the Northwest Territories, whether they're at the rink, waiting at home after practice, or proudly sporting their team's colours. We might need to see some Hockey NWT pups in the comments!

The “Swiftie” Drill! Listen for the whistle!!!

Our athletes are working on reacting quickly while staying in control. Skate at regular speed, whistle means GO, next whistle means a quick stop, turn and change direction!

And what do you call a drill where you have to make a swift turn? Apparently, the Swiftie! Quick reactions. Quick feet. Quick turns. Keep working, athletes!!!

Great to see hockey featured in the Hay River Hub!

Every opportunity our athletes have to play, compete and develop is made possible by a lot of people behind the scenes, from coaches and volunteers to families, communities and partners.

Thank you to James McCarthy and Northern News Services for continuing to tell the stories of our athletes and Northern sport.

We love seeing hockey in the news!!!

Music can play an important role in sport, whether it is helping set the mood before a competition, adding energy to a workout, or simply making movement more enjoyable.

What works is different for everyone. Some athletes prefer something energetic, others something calm, and some prefer no music at all. What is on your sport or workout playlist right now?

Ever notice how the right song can completely change the way a workout, practice, or competition feels? Music can be more than background noise. It can help athletes focus, find energy, maintain rhythm, stay motivated, and get into the right mindset to perform.

From the warm-up playlist that gets you ready, to the song that helps you push through one more interval, music can be a powerful part of how we move. And just like sport, there is no one playlist that works for everyone. Experiment with different songs, tempos, and styles, and discover what helps you feel ready to move and perform.

Find your rhythm.
Find your energy.
Find what moves you.

The right music. The right mindset. Your best performance.

The Eye of the Apprentice Coach!!!

Sometimes coaching is about leading. Sometimes it is about teaching. And sometimes, it is simply about watching, listening and taking it all in. As preparations continue for the 2027 Canada Winter Games, our Apprentice Coach is getting a front-row look at everything happening on the ice, even when the view gets a little crowded.

Every drill, every conversation and every moment is another opportunity to learn.
We see you watching.
