The celebrations continue at Winnipeg Phoenix FC! 👏⚽

Following our earlier recognition of Coach Dino and Coach James, we are also very proud to congratulate Coach Michael, Assistant Coach with our U16/17 Girls, on successfully completing his Concacaf B Diploma.

Coach Michael’s achievement is another great example of the commitment our coaching staff continue to make toward their own development, and ultimately toward providing better environments and experiences for our players.

We also want to recognize and thank the many other Phoenix coaches who are currently working toward completing their Canada Soccer C Diplomas. Coach development takes time, commitment, reflection, and a willingness to keep learning, and we appreciate the work happening throughout the club.

At Phoenix, developing players also means continuing to develop the people who coach them.

A very special recognition for one of our own. 🇨🇦 🇵🇹⚽🔥

Congratulations to Isabella “Izzy” H., who was selected as the Female MVP of the 2026 S.C. Braga ID Camp in Winnipeg!

Through the camp, Izzy earned the opportunity to travel to Portugal for a two-week trial and development experience with S.C. Braga, training within the environment of one of Portugal’s leading professional football clubs.

As the Female MVP, Izzy was awarded the first week of that experience as her MVP prize.

The opportunity was originally planned for this August. Unfortunately, Izzy sustained an injury at a showcase tournament shortly after the camp and is currently focused on getting back to full fitness.

Most importantly, the opportunity she earned remains hers. Once she is fully recovered and ready to return to the field, we will work to arrange her experience in Portugal.

This is exactly what we want this partnership to provide: real professional connections, real opportunities, and real pathways for our players.

A strong finish to an incredible week! ⚽🔥

Our U14 to U17 players closed out the S.C. Braga visit with a special 90-minute training session led by professional coaches and scouts who work directly with S.C. Braga in Portugal.

The session brought intensity, detail, and high standards, giving our older players another valuable opportunity to learn, compete, and be observed by professionals connected directly to the club’s player-development structure.

This is what a meaningful partnership looks like: real S.C. Braga professionals, real player-development opportunities, and a real connection between Winnipeg Phoenix FC and S.C. Braga in Portugal.

Thank you to the players for their effort and professionalism, and to the S.C. Braga staff for sharing their knowledge and experience with our club.

A fitting conclusion to a memorable week, and another important step forward in our partnership.

Following the conclusion of the S.C. Braga ID Camp, our younger Phoenix players had the opportunity to take part in a special 90-minute session led by the S.C. Braga coaching staff.

The energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn were outstanding. It was great to see so many players enjoying the experience, challenging themselves, and taking in new ideas from the Braga coaches.

A memorable development opportunity for our young players and a great way to continue building the connection between S.C. Braga and Winnipeg Phoenix FC.

The final day has begun, and the players are back on the field for one more full day of learning, competition, and development with the S.C. Braga coaching staff, supported by Winnipeg Phoenix FC technical staff.

It has been an incredible experience so far, and we are looking forward to finishing the camp with the same energy, focus, and enthusiasm the players have shown throughout the week.
