Huge thanks to the 30 hardworking volunteers who came out to the Bikes & Beyond Bison Butte Dig Night! Your hard work helps keep the trails in great shape.
Although the rain during the evening made the dirt very sticky, we managed to get a lot of work done, leading nicely to this weekend's races.
👉 We widened many sections of the trails and corners with w**d eaters and pruners.
👉 Continued berm and cupped trail repairs on Goose It and Goose It Return.
👉 Overhauled a jump and landing on the Happy Ending downhill.
👉 Rebuilt rollers and the berm into the shark fin on the Toilet Bowl.
👉 It was a great evening of good vibes, hard work, great prizes, and fresh donuts!
Thanks again to our Dig Night sponsor, Bikes & Beyond, for their support, generosity, and hard work.
Reminder: The trails, jumps, and features are regularly changing due to maintenance.
Pre-ride, re-ride, free-ride. Take it easy on your first lap when you ride at Bison Butte so you can get used to any changes.

August 15 Trail Conditions: Very wet and muddy everywhere. All newly rebuilt dirt sections are especially soft and sticky. The trails will need a couple of days to dry up. Please do not use the trails when they are wet and muddy.

If you haven’t been to a Dig Night before, here’s what you need to know:
👉 A Dig Night is a trail evening where hard working volunteers come together to keep Bison Butte’s trails in top shape.
👉 We might be digging with shovels, mowing, pruning, rebuilding features, fixing erosion, installing drainage, or doing other trail maintenance tasks.
👉 No experience is needed but it is physically demanding work. We’ll provide all the tools and equipment, but please bring eye protection, gloves and wear close toe shoes.
Where do we meet and park for Dig Nights?
We have a link in our bio to a pin of where to enter the Bison Butte access road off McCreary. The gate is open just for Dig Nights, follow the gravel road heading east until you arrive at the sea cans and parking area. Please drive very slowly on the access road.
A huge thanks to this Dig Night's sponsor Bikes & Beyond for providing draw prizes and funds that go to help the trails!

Another great turnout for the Alter Ego Sports Bison Butte Dig Night!
Twenty-seven people came out and put in a lot of hard work, putting the hand tools to good use and accomplishing a ton!
👉 Drainage and cupping repairs were completed on the north end of Goose It Return, including some new grade reversals to help prevent erosion.
👉 Berms were repaired on Goose It after the big rock drops.
👉 The badly eroded short climb after the rock roll at the end of the Back 40 was overhauled.
👉 Drains were added on the Goose It Return climb to help prevent further erosion.
👉 All the water bars were cleared of sediment.
👉 The jump at the start of the Green DH was overhauled, with sediment removed from in front of it and the lip rebuilt.
Thanks to all the volunteers who came out. Your hard work helps keep the trails in great shape for everyone to enjoy!

Happy Canada Day - July 1st - Trail Conditions Update - Unfortunately there was more rain over night and all low sections in the bush are soft and muddy. The Green Trail beside the lake and in the forest is especially wet and muddy.
As well, the section after the rock drops heading north (Goose It) is very wet and muddy.
Please do not ride those sections for the next couple days.
