🚑 Help keep our players safe this season.

The Manitoba Athletic Therapists Association (MATA) Athletic First Aider Training course is coming up July 25 & 26, 2026 and is a requirement for team trainers supporting U12 and older tackle football programs.

Whether you’re a current team trainer, volunteer, coach, or someone looking to support your club, this is an excellent opportunity to gain the knowledge and certification needed to help care for athletes on and off the field.

📅 Course Dates: July 25 & 26, 2026 (attendance required both days)
🕣 Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
📍 Location: Sport Manitoba – 145 Pacific Avenue
💲 Cost: $150 + processing fees
📝 Registration closes: July 23, 2026

Prerequisite: Participants must hold a current CSA-approved Emergency First Aid Level C & AED certification (Basic First Aid/“First Aider 1”) before attending.

🌡️ Extreme heat doesn’t take a season off and neither does player safety. 🏈☀️

Whether we’re in pre-season, in-season, or preparing for next season, it’s important that every coach, volunteer, parent, official, and player understands how to recognize and respond to extreme heat.

The Football Manitoba Heat & Humidity Policy provides clear guidelines on hydration, rest breaks, equipment modifications, practice adjustments, and when activities should be modified or stopped altogether. These standards are in place to help protect everyone on the field.

At the Manitoba Minor Football Association, player safety will always come first. We encourage every football family to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and keep them handy throughout the summer.
