๐ก๏ธ Extreme heat doesnโt take a season off and neither does player safety. ๐โ๏ธ
Whether weโre in pre-season, in-season, or preparing for next season, itโs important that every coach, volunteer, parent, official, and player understands how to recognize and respond to extreme heat.
The Football Manitoba Heat & Humidity Policy provides clear guidelines on hydration, rest breaks, equipment modifications, practice adjustments, and when activities should be modified or stopped altogether. These standards are in place to help protect everyone on the field.
At the Manitoba Minor Football Association, player safety will always come first. We encourage every football family to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and keep them handy throughout the summer.
๐ You can find the policy on the Football Manitoba website under Resources โ Heat & Humidity Policy, or access it directly here:
https://footballmanitoba.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/24/2021/11/heat_and_humidity_information_2017.pdf
Letโs work together to ensure every practice and every game is as safe as it is fun.
๐ง Hydrate.
๐ณ Rest in the shade.
๐ก๏ธ Monitor conditions.
๐ Put player safety first.
