Get ready for a night of hockey, laughs, stories, and trivia! Join us for the Hockey Heritage Trivia Night, hosted by the two entertaining AV hockey head coaches who are always up for a little fun and a lot of hockey talk! Grab your friends, build a team of four, and come test your hockey knowledge while supporting the Avon View Girls & Boys Hockey Teams and Scholarship Fund. $15 per person, Thursday, September 24th at 7 PM at the Spitfire Pub in Windsor. Come for the trivia, stay for the laughs, and help support a great cause!

It may only be August but we are gearing up for another exciting season of Avon View Boys Hockey! Who will be the next 17 to wear the AV jerseys with pride?

Happy Birthday to the trailblazer our home rink is named after, John Paris Jr.!

HAPPY 80TH BDAY, JPJ! 🎂

One of the great trailblazers in the sport we love is celebrating another very special milestone today. Windsor's John Paris Jr. is turning 80.

John was the first Black coach in the QMJHL (and the Canadian Hockey League).

The first Black scout in the NHL.

The first Black general manager in professional hockey.

And in 1994, he became the first Black head coach in pro hockey, leading the Atlanta Knights to a Turner Cup championship in that same season.

He has worn every hat in the game, and worn them all with class.

We greatly appreciate the ongoing support received each year. It’s always a well organized, successful event with everyone having a great time including a few of our players and coaches!

In a heartfelt gesture, our 14 graduating players shared a last moment in the dressing room at graduation yesterday and we had to get one more picture with the 2x4. We thank you for your loyalty and dedication, which has made this season truly unforgettable. As you embark on new challenges, know that the lessons learned and bonds formed will endure. Though your time on the team maybe over, you’ll always be a part of the avalanche family!
