As we get closer to our Annual General Meeting, we’re wrapping up our Director Spotlight series with Connie Jasper.

Throughout this series, we’ve introduced you to some of the people behind the scenes who give their time, experience, ideas, and plenty of hard work to help make the Stampede happen each year.

We hope you’ve enjoyed getting to know our Directors a little better. If you’ve been following along and thinking you might like to get involved yourself, our AGM is coming up soon! If you have a passion for the Williams Lake Stampede and would like to learn more about becoming a Director, we’d love to hear from you.

Last up — meet Director Connie Jasper!

Elected as a Director in September 2025 after several years as a dedicated volunteer, Connie Jasper brings deep ranching roots and a lifelong connection to rodeo to the Williams Lake Stampede.
Raised in a ranching and rodeo family, Connie is the daughter of Roy and Gwen Mulvahill, longtime cattle ranchers and rodeo stock contractors. Their horses and cattle were familiar sights at jackpot rodeos throughout the Chilcotin, and the Mulvahill family even supplied bucking horses during the early years of the Williams Lake Stampede.
Connie carried that rodeo tradition forward herself, competing in barrel racing, team roping, steer undecorating, and breakaway roping. Later, she spent many years supporting her children in their own rodeo careers, travelling with them throughout British Columbia, across Canada, and into the United States, including trips to Canadian and National Finals.
Today, Connie and her husband, Mike, continue their connection to ranching with a cattle herd of their own.
As a Stampede Director, Connie serves on the Events, 50/50, and DDA Committees and is passionate about preserving the authentic western culture that has shaped the Williams Lake Stampede for generations. With the Stampede approaching its 100th anniversary, she would love to see Ranch Rodeo and Cow Horse events return to the grounds—showcasing the horsemanship, stockmanship, and everyday ranching skills that remain an important part of our local community.

Be sure to check out this one day event!!

Hitting the pavement today trying to hang posters for Bulls & Baby Buckers and WOW, we have been told no more times than we have been told yes. 🫠

These events bring customers to town. They support gas stations, restaurants, hotels, parts stores, and so much more. 🛒

If you’re a local business that’s open to a poster in your window, please drop a comment or send us a message. 🫶🏼

We want to make sure everyone in town knows about this event, but the amount of businesses who do not want an event poster hung is incredibly discouraging. 😬

Help us get the word out!! 🤠

Liz Crosina...I have been involved with the Williams Lake Stampede as Director in charge of Merchandise and Treasurer.

My connection to the Williams Lake Stampede began through family involvement. I started as a volunteer and later served on the Board of Directors for six years. After that term, I returned to volunteering and have now been back on the board for the past three years.

My background in western roots comes from being part of an amazing family with a long history in ranching, rodeo, and western culture. I have attended 25 CFRs.

The western lifestyle is a way of life in this area—it’s deeply intertwined with our community. The Williams Lake Stampede Association, to me, represents giving back and being part of an organization that continues to support and contribute to the community.

Over the years I have been involved with several organizations and committees, volunteering within the city. These include Williams Lake RCMP Victim Services, Restorative Justice, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Emergency Support Services for the City of Williams Lake, and of course the Stampede Association.
