Yukan Canoe has some exciting news!!!! We are trying something new and are offering 2 more Intro to Moving Water Canoe Courses in September.

And one of them will be taught in Ukrainian by Oleskii.
Sept 11,12,13- Ukrainian

Sept 18,19,20 - English taught by Oleskii who is fluent in English, Ukrainian and French.

Since last 5 years, I paddled my canoe trough Canada. From Newfoundland to Quebec and for third season in Yukon. In 2022, I completed a guiding program in Gaspe. Since then guiding and sharing the connection with water became my main goal. Before canoeing, I grew up in Bucniv, a little village next to Ternopil in Ukraine.

Привіт! Мене звуть Олексій Півторак і я інструктор для Yukan Canoe. За останні 5 років, моє каноє провалило крізь всю країну. Від Новознайденої землі до Квебеку та в останні роки в Юконі. У 2022 році я закінчив школу гідів в Гаспе. З того часу я працюю гідом і поширую зв'язок з водою. Перед каноє, я виріс в Буцневі біля Тернополя.

Ви давно мрієте поплисти в каноє крізь Юкон і хочете щоб подорож прийшла безпечно. Тоді вам до нас. Я навчу вас українською мовою як володіти веслом і читати воду.

Someone (not us) had a bad day on the Takhini at the Rock Garden. A $3500 + canoe broken in half and ruined. This could have been totally prevented by equiping the canoe with extra floatation such as a big truck inner tube or a float bag. We sell center bags for $75- pretty cheap insurance. I have seen pinned and damaged canoes at the Jaws before but never heard of one at the Rock Garden.

The water level was pretty low with a slow current- But a canoe full of water is no match for the river. There are canoes like this abandoned all over the Yukon on various rivers. Extra floatation is essential.
