We have been planning to make our first post, unfortunately the iffy weather has been a challenge. You see since the Yukon is bear country, one must be careful all year round; no matter what season it is. Right now our temperature has only been dipping into -21 s far as I can remember. Normally at this time of the year, it would be consistently cold, last year it was -40 for several days, but this year has been apparently different according to locals. Back in December we were sitting at around -5 to -8 for a couple of days, and that's not very good, bears can still be awake looking for food.
Hence, bear spray and bear bangers are a must. The problem with bear spray in the winter is that you must keep it warm when it's winter, otherwise, it will not work.
For now, this is what we have, snowshoeing at a friend's property about an hour away from where we live in Whitehorse.
