WRASA Performance Series | Dives & Turns Night #2 🌊
Back at it with the second Dives & Turns clinic, and the water was buzzing!
We locked in on underwater dolphin kicks coming off the dives and push-offs, and the improvement from start to finish was awesome. When athletes are timing their breakout into freestyle cleanly, you can see the momentum carry. That’s the goal.
From there it was free and back flip turns. Stroke counts into the wall, finding that magic number from the flags and then trusting it.
Proud of how our Stream 1 swimmers attacked flip turns and stuck their landings. And Stream 2 and 3 nailed the timing into backstroke turns without bleeding speed off the wall.
Two more Dives & Turns nights left in the series. The transitions are becoming real . 💪

Late post! We’ve been a little busy being in the pool!
A few highlights from the last few weeks:
Dives & Turns Night — May 20:
Starts, turns, and underwater work. Athletes worked through grab and track starts off the blocks, cleaned up their take-your-marks position, and put some serious reps into turn mechanics across all four strokes. The real fun came at the end with full race-application efforts: start, underwater, breakout — put it all together and go. The whole crew was loving it 🏊♂️
Butterfly Stroke Clinic — June 3:
24 athletes, three streams, zero vertical butterfly by the end of the night (huge win).
Stream 1 built hip-driven kick from scratch.
Stream 2 got into the pull pattern. The question mark, entry to hip exit.
Stream 3 locked in two-kick timing and held their undulation over distance sets. We closed with a dolphin kick relay that was somehow both competitive and chaotic. Exactly how it should be.

Today, we kicked things off with our Dryland and Activation Workshop — a coach education session that set the tone for everything ahead. The room was locked in, the energy was high, and every coach walked out with the tools and the confidence to develop dryland sessions that will elevate their swimmers’ performance. This summer and beyond.
The standard has been set. Can’t wait to get to work with this group. 🤝🏊
