What a great day for sports, teamwork and community yesterday at the NLJJC. Clubs from all over newfoundland and Labrador were well represented and even some come from aways. I remember back to my first jiu-jitsu tournament in Newfoundland with 5 competitors... 2 blue belts 3 white belts... its phenomenal to see how much it has evolved and grown.

A big thanks to Michael Foley's Academy of Martial Arts for putting off one hell of a show again this year. Also thank you to all the clubs for being incredibly respectful and courteous to the officials and volunteers - and to all the competitors. Win or loose, stepping on those mats is something most people will never experience. Congratulations to you all.

Such awesome work done in our lil' kids class this season! They have so much fun - they don't even know they're learning some of the most fundamental techniques of jiu jitsu through games and animal movements. We can't wait to see them back on the mats this spring!
