For better flow in the tech. Look for the nice smooth pockets to press in too. The skills we learn on jump trails can be used to help you porpoise from pocket to pocket. Or similar to a frog across Lilly pads. Corners are often better with that early heavy pressure too.

Focus:
It’s the easiest and the hardest thing all at once. The narrower and more precise you can aim the smaller you will miss by. And that’s a tool you can use to maintain good average speed and flow.

Playfulness is a quality that comes naturally from humans when we’re young. It’s harder to tap in to when we mature. The best way to do it as an adult is to bore yourself with easier terrain. Boredom isn’t something to resist. It means you’re more aware of your situation. Use it to look for new ways to shred. Maybe its a bank on the side of the trail, or no straight lines. A rock embedded in the trail you can bump your wheels off of. Or a shortcut, maybe a slightly steeper way than the main trail. This playful mindset will drive you to get better on your bike through collecting experiences. Quite often you can simulate features that you would otherwise find on trails but the run out to open spaces with less factors the rider needs to watch out for. These safer spaces provide excellent sandboxes for riders to experiment and explore. Just watch out for other riders, pedestrians, wild life, traffic. Etc. Your decision to take extra risks shouldn’t include others. Use your senses.

Phat wed Chainless Aline race.
Pumped on my time. Had Gracey Hemstreet dropping 30sec behind me was very motivating. She got me by 2 sec. Stoked on some of the scrubs I did at full speed.

Big air! Fun thing about hips is the ability you have to choose how big you want to go. The faster you go the further you can transfer! Each attempt a little experiment between physics and your ability to tolerate more speed and more air time.
