WE’RE NOT A CROSSFIT GYM.
And we haven’t been since 2020.
We spent more than 10 years as a CrossFit affiliate, and to be clear — we still like a lot of what that methodology taught us.
You’ll even see some of it sprinkled into our workouts today.
But after 38 years in the fitness industry, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from many different training methods, philosophies and coaches.
And Bodyshop has evolved.
Today we train and coach everyone from our 8-year-old Gladiators to our 85-year-old OWLS, and our approach is built around a bigger goal:
Helping people build a body that continues to serve them well for life.
We prioritize strength and building and maintaining muscle.
We train conditioning, mobility, balance, coordination, power, speed and endurance.
We still believe in developing the 10 General Physical Skills — strength, endurance, stamina, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy — because we don’t want our members to be good at just one thing.
We want them to be capable.
Strong enough to lift something heavy.
Fit enough to hike, bike, ski, play a sport or keep up with their kids and grandkids.
Mobile enough to move well.
Athletic enough to react when life doesn’t go exactly as planned.
And conditioned enough to enjoy the things they’ve worked their whole lives to be able to do.
Especially after 40, our goal isn’t simply to get better at working out.
We’re training for life.
We want our members to stay strong, healthy, active and independent for as long as possible.
To continue doing the activities they love.
To remain an asset to their families and the people around them.
And ultimately, to add more quality years to their life — not simply more years.
CrossFit is part of our history, and we’re grateful for what we learned from it.
But today, Bodyshop is its own thing.
A coaching facility built around strength, fitness, longevity and helping people Live Their Best Life.
