The Match Anglers Club Ontario United performed our 10th and final competition of our classification season yeasterday at Net resort Vineland. Our season has been blessed with wonderful weather conditions but on this day rains and wind appeared. Due to venue limitations less space was given providing a more competitive environment. Congratulations Zoltan Pahoki on winning with more than 12 kg of fish. Roughly 15 carp 15 catfish. Second place with similar fish numbers but smaller sized fish is John bulmer with over 8 kg 12 carp and 18 catfish. Great job guys! Zoltan nudged the big fish honours with a 1.72 kg carp! With much time between now and our championship sept 28 our club might organise pick up events if interested contact the club. Enclosed is our seasons classification of anglers top 5 performances over our season. These points are carried over to the championship top 10 anglers. Your season points plus your points accumulated during the championship classify you to become club champion. The angler with the least amount of penalty points will take home the club title! Saturday September 12 8-10am is the St. Catharines game and fish kids day derby! Sponsored by Peter’s tackle many great prizes await lucky young anglers. Catagorys to 16 years of age! Bring your kids out! Any club members please come out to help measure fish!

Our club not only holds tournaments but we put together a 10 competition season to classify our top anglers over their top 5 performances. After each match your final ranking is your points for that competition. The goal is to have the least amount of points. After the ten tournament series our top 10 angler compete at our championship venue to determine our season champion. Your points over your best 5 completions are carried over into the championship giving a ten point variable and a lot of importance to fishing well this day to be our club champion! This makes every decision over 60 hrs of fishing very important! With our points system we also classify our clubs top 5 anglers. Our goal as a group is to represent our country on the highest competitive level in future events and this points system helps us to qualify for these events! Come out check out our group of the best coarse anglers here! Great competition and learning from eachother for a common team goal is a great thing!

Sunday July 12 17 anglers completed our 7th test of our 2026 10 match season at Net resort Pelham. Bright hot conditions prevailed throughout the day but the fish did not seem to mind! Before the match many fish were seen throughout the match length boosting anglers morale and confidence on not just competing but also to have a nice day fishing! After the prebaiting period the excitement grew and on the first cast all 4 anglers in my section lost a fish immediately! Throughout the match banter being sent after visible catches helped provide more fun! When the all out whistle went most anglers were excited to share catch experiences together after having a great day! All 17 anglers caught Atleast 5 fish! Many fish caught through the larger carp or big numbers of smaller carp and catfish played the winning roles! Big congratulations to Zoltan Pahoki on our clubs second biggest bag ever in competition at net 15 kg! Also the biggest fish of 2.68 kg! Second is John bulmer with 11.56 kg great bag of mixed carp and cats. 3rd is Justin VanShaik 8.56 kg of small carp and big bullheads. Throughout the venue the fishing proved consistent and angler enjoyment was through the roof! Our next venue byng island dam Grand river Dunnville. Our chosen championship venue in arena like setting where all anglers can see each other and more then 30 species of fish can become entered into competition! Our July 12 match date has been determined through member votes. Our club members have decided NET resort Pelham will host our event that day. If you’re interested in competing comment your name below! Registration 830 in front lot pay 8$ at front gate for 9. We will draw in the front lot then proceed to your peg area. Pre baiting period starts at 10:30 am all in 11:00. All out 4:00pm.

Our club performed the 6th match of our 10 match season at ec brown conservation area Welland Ontario. 11 anglers battled for big carp supremacy in bright hot conditions. After a magnificent powerful prebaiting period the many fish that were seen before hand had vanished. But after time a few anglers found the right bites. Congratulations Satoshi Ito on a huge win your first match against Canadas top match men good job sir hope to see you at more. Second place and coming up in the points standings is Denis Kreze. Satoshi had the big fish honours with a 6.60 kg specimen! Good work guys on a hard day of fishing! Our next match is to be determined venue. Anyone with ideas recommendations ect comment below. A fair voting process is in place to determine where we fish next so hope to know in a few days about where we will bd going next! Anyone interested in getting youth new anglers aunt Susie just about anyone can benefit from our vast network of knowledge within our club membership so come out and enjoy fishing with us! Our clubs 5th test of 2026th was performed at the international flatwater centre in Welland Ontario. 14 anglers battled in hot sunny conditions on the beautiful rowing coarse. The fish did not show up in anticipated numbers and many anglers did not catch. Congratulations Denis Kreze on a monster 1 kg bullhead to win. Big Congratulations goes out to Dave Newman for figuring it out on a tough day good work sir on a solid 2nd place. Our next match is June 28 at ec brown conservation area on the Welland river! What is thought as our premium carp venue a weight of 103.5 lbs was caught during a match last year there. Sign up in the comments below to secure your spot. Limited pegs available.
