We’re kicking off the 2026–27 season in style at Shaka Wasaga River Bar! Come hang out with the River Dragons and help us get the new season started with a great night on the river!

🐉 FROM PLAYER TO COACH — WELCOME BACK, #15 ARTUR KHARISOV! 🐉

The Wasaga River Dragons are proud to announce that former River Dragon #15 Artur Kharisov is returning to the organization for the 2026/27 season — this time behind the bench as an Assistant Coach!

Artur was an important part of our group last season, bringing competitiveness, leadership, and a strong work ethic every time he stepped on the ice. Now, he’ll bring that same passion to our coaching staff as he begins the next chapter of his hockey career.

Artur has also truly made Wasaga Beach his new home, choosing to stay in the community full-time throughout the offseason and continuing to build strong connections both on and off the ice. Along with joining the River Dragons coaching staff, Artur will continue his playing career this season with the Elmvale Harvesters at the Senior A level.

Having someone behind the bench who has worn the River Dragons jersey and understands our culture is something we’re extremely excited about.

🐉 PLAYER SIGNING | DMITRI SIDORENKO 🇧🇾

The Wasaga River Dragons are excited to announce the signing of 2006-born Belarusian forward Dmitri Sidorenko for the 2026/27 season!

Sidorenko joins Wasaga after an outstanding 2025/26 season with Medvedi Vitebsk, recording 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points in 42 games in the Belarus Vysshaya. The 6’0”, left-shot forward is listed as a playmaker and has produced 70 points in 92 games at that level over the past two seasons.

Earlier in his career, Sidorenko put up a dominant 67 points in 36 games with HK Vitebsk U18, including 33 goals.

The River Dragons originally selected Sidorenko 91st overall in the 5th round of the 2026 GMHL Draft, and we’re thrilled to officially bring him to Wasaga Beach.
