Over 75 competitors from across the country will be in action next week, September 1-4, at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club in Victoria, B.C., during Sail Canada 2026 Youth Championships (ILCA and 29er).

Competitors will be in action in the 29er, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes. In the ILCA 6 and 29er classes, sailors will aim to qualify for the 2026 World Sailing Youth World Championships to be held December 15-19 in Vilamoura, Portugal.

Plus de 75 compétiteurs de partout au pays seront en action la semaine prochaine, du 1er au 4 septembre, au Royal Victoria Yacht Club à Victoria, en C.-B., lors des Championnats de la jeunesse (ILCA et 29er) 2026 de Voile Canada.

Les compétiteurs seront en action en classes 29er, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 et ILCA 7. En classes ILCA 6 et 29er, ils viseront à se qualifier pour les Championnats du monde de la jeunesse de World Sailing 2026 qui auront lieu du 15 au 19 décembre à Vilamoura, au Portugal.

The more than century-old racing sailboat Dorothy will be visiting RVic this week during the Sail Canada Youth Championship. Dorothy’s connection to the Club dates back to the early days when the Victoria Yacht Club was located in the Inner Harbour. She was built for Commodore W.H. Langley in 1897, and won many events in her early active racing days.

We are only a few days away from the Sail Canada Youth Championships at Royal Victoria Yacht Club. The fleets racing include 29er, ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7.

Sail Canada 2026 Youth Championships are part of a series of eight Sail Canada National and Regional Championships to be held this summer. These competitions provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
